  1. Re: New from Sedona Welcome Jim, Welcome to the forum. I have had my KK for about 2 months so I am still learning as well. I find myself looking for a new recipe every couple of days to try out as I am sure you will too. Congrats on a great purchase as I am sure it will serve you well for many many years.
  2. Re: Hello from OHIO Wow nice prize to win. Congrats!! Well as for the looftlighter I debated between it and the torch as well but after reading many posts it seems the torch was better so thats what I went with. I can say it works very well for me so I am glad thats the way I went.
  3. Re: Unpacking video of Komodo Kamado Yes very nice video.

Re: New Owner Cooked my first Beef Tenderloin tonight. It turned out amazing. I was going to cook it at 250 but it ended up around 275 for 3 and a half hours. Cooked it to 150 internal temp because my wife doesn't like rare meat. I think next time I will do two tenderloins instead of one.

Re: New Owner Thanks for all the replys. I was going to buy a looftlighter but when I went to Home depot I found out it is online purchase only. So I think I will head back tomorrow and get a torch after reading the reviews from both. My biggest concern was having to buy fuel all the time, but it sounds like it lasts a while.

Re: New Owner Finally got my KK set up and cooked a Pork Butt. It turned out great!!! It took me a bit to get it lit but after that it got to 250 and pretty much stayed there. Can't wait to try something else now. I think I am going to look into something to help get it started a little easier for future cooks. Any suggestions?

Re: New Owner Sorry I have been traveling a lot and have not been able to even unpack it. We also just had Sandy come through here as well so maybe it was better I didn't have a chance to get it out yet. Hopefully I will be able to open it this weekend after cleaning up after the storm. Cory

Re: New Owner Thanks for the replies. I can't wait to get home tonight and open it up. Hopefully I will get to do some shopping for stuff to cook on it tomorrow.

Well after going back and forth with what I wanted to get I decided to go with the KK. I have always been the type of person that prefers buying items that last instead of replacing them over and over though the years. From everything I have read the KK should out last me. My next step is to learn how to cook on it but I have already found several good things to start with. The funny thing is I am out of town and it will get to my house before I will. I would like to ask though what is your favorite item to cook on your KK. That should give me a good list of items to try and keep me busy for a while. Thanks Cory
