  1. The great news is that you had a tasty roast for dinner. Next time you will have an even more fantastic roast.
  2. I picked up a 2.5 lb. pound brisket on my Fri. day trip. Normally I wouldn't do this but knowing the KK there would be no worries about drying out this small piece of meat. On the grill at 225F at 9:45 AM. BTW, this beef was organically raised without hormones, etc. and was only grass fed. Several hours later when the IT was 165F I wrapped the brisket in brown paper. No pixs but was I surprised at how much it had shrunk before wrapping. Done 203 F and 10:45 PM. About 15 mins later, unwrapped. Sliced. Plated. In some pixs the brisket may appear dry but it was not. I'd do this one again.:)
  3. Talk about comfort food, erik, I am starving and that just looks sooooooooooo delicious. Truth be told it would look delicious if I was stuffed.
  4. I loved it and actually I did think I could taste the beer hops. This one is for you Tony. I can't remember what hops were used but I'll ask my friend and see what he says. It has a wonderful aroma though. Tony, that beer was called FLR - Front Line Rocker DIPA. It's an 8% DIPA brewed with 50:50 Citra:Simcoe hops. The aroma as you put the glass to your mouth is stunning, loved it and the taste.
  5. Fri. I went on a day trip to get some special meat and beer. Came back with both and a combination of the two. The meat market had beer bacon, the beer was an IPA made by my brew-master friend so I just had to try that.:) This was tasty breakfast, ck peach jam, purple crack and beer bacon.
  6. I thought I went through a lot of sugar but nothing compared to that, thank goodness. I loved that expression, "bumming herds". All of our humming bird migrate, males and females, I have only 1 or 2 left so I am still feeding them.
  7. Those are good tips not ones that a person might think of.
  8. At least they will be safe and be getting great food while they wait the outcome of the storm.
  9. ck, it sounds like you and your sister are going to ride out the storm together. I sure hope her house survives in tact. Scary stuff.
  10. Thanks, Bruce. I agree. I think my eyes were bigger than my belly.[emoji4]
  11. Thanks, Tony, it is pretty tasty and salty so it leaves you thirty. I guess that's what beer is for. I'm visiting my brew-master friend tomorrow, that should be tasty.
  12. Start up the little KK to grill some Halloumi cheese for lunch. Done, doesn't take too long. The cheese was to go with a chicken thigh sandwich. The thighs were grilled the other day and I also made a fresh batch of sauerkraut salad. Just look at the nooks and grannies of this store bought bread.
  13. That sounds fantastic, Tony. I never knew that mice carried their young on their backs.
  14. DiveandGrill, that is wonderful news, now you are set for your first rotisserie cook.
  15. Nothing new here today but I did do another sour dough loaf of bread with toasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I used the Digi Q again it just works so well to get the whole KK to 450F.
  16. Yikes, I can't imagine that, in fact, I don't want to imagine that.
  17. Do you have pix of how things don't seem to be fitting? There are pixs posted on the forum but it will take some digging to fine them. The good news is you know this will get sorted.
  18. Ribs, ribs, ribs, can't have too many when they look that gooood.
  19. Yes, Aussie, doesn't seem to be the best advice for Australians.
  20. My humming birds are nearly all gone. I think there are only 2 left. Maybe the one you have is one of mine.🤣[emoji4]
  21. Did the hummingbird crash into something? It doesn't appear to be sitting normally but that maybe just the angle. They do eat bugs but I don't think they are interested in worms. [emoji4]
  22. Tony, thanks, I was surprised how well the string idea worked. I figured if I could keep them on the forks until they cooked a little I'd be OK.
