  1. I too have the 5cfm fan for my stoker. Once up to temp the fan barely runs. I think the bigger fan may help get you up to temp quicker but think you'll be fine with the smaller fan. By waiting you now get the built in wireless
  2. Re: Best vacuum packer? (FoodSaver alternatives?) Syzygies, Thanks for the heads up on the Cyclone 30 sale. I've now got one on order. Does anyone have a good source for bags?
  3. Re: Dear Santa Do you have Grillfloss? It works great on the thick grates on the KK.
  4. My prayers are with you and your family Dennis, Sorry to hear of the loss of your grandfather. My prayers are with you and you're family. It great you were able to visit before his passing. Jim
  5. If you haven't bought Chris Lilly's Big Bob Gibson's BBQ Book yet I highly recommend you do. Its well worth the $16.50 Amazon is asking for it. I've made his four-stage bbq ribs a couple times now and each time they were excellent. Four hours at 250 with just enough activity to get me off the lounge chair a few times to tend to the ribs and get another round of homebrews.
  6. Just curious how long people wait to put their Johnnyboy Jammie on after they cook? The KK is pretty cool to the touch everywhere except down by the firebox at all times. I've been waiting an hour or two then getting my baby under cover for the evening even though its still hot by the firebox. Figure this is fine considering how the Jammie fits; just wondering if I should be waiting till the next morning? Thanks...
  7. For those of you looking for a great gift for your loved one...look no further!!! You cannot go wrong with a Komodo Kamado! You too can make excellent BBQ. I've been very impressed with how easy it is to cook on the Komodo Kamado. I've never done this before but after all the reading I've done on this forum I decided I had to have one of these. Its one of the best decisions I've ever made. Cooking on it is a piece of cake...pour in a basket full of charcoal, hit it with a blow torch for a minute or so, let it burn a bit then really dial back the top and the daisy wheel and it just holds a low temp forever. Very nice. Even the basic burger/brats routinely cooked on the gasser are soo much better when cooked in a KK. Its amazing how good they are. Just don't tell my wife about this post as she's giving me all the credit. Dennis has really thought this thing out and produces a top of the line product. Get one for yourself...you won't be disappointed.
  8. I spent a few months reading this forum and decided to purchase a KK. I'm certain that with your help I'll be able to produce some very nice meals. Thanks!!! Sorry, I'm not a bbq champ so I'll be one of those people soaking up information from all you experienced members. What I can offer is to allow any one in central IL to swing by my house and check out my KK. I took possession of a glass black gen 2.2 on Oct 17th. Its a beauty...
