I would go there to get Big Green Egg lump charcoal which was the best option in my local area (decent quality but expensive). It seems like there is no KK charcoal available right now (based on the posts in the forum). What is my next best option? I'm familiar with the Whiz site but have not been able to locate some of the more common options (Royal Oak lump, etc.). I could get Real Montana lump shipped to me @ $1/lb (but it's supposed to be excellent). Does anyone live in the Portland/Vancouver area and know of a good place to get lump charcoal (at a good price)? Any tips or help would be appreciated! cruzmisl Posted September 8, 2009 Report Share Posted September 8, 2009 I use trader Joe's briquettes, royal oak lump, Whole Foods lump and an unknown mesquite lump from Paraguay to mix it up. mguerra Posted September 8, 2009 Report Share Posted September 8, 2009 filler A bag of Royal Oak lump is the same size as a bag of their briquettes. The lump weighs 10 lbs., the briquettes 18 lbs.
