Tri tip

Recommended Posts

I have seen tri-tip cut into steaks, but that was when I lived in Missouri. Never saw a roast out there. I *think* I have seen the roast at BJs here in Orlando - might be worth a shot. Maybe ask the meat monger if he can dig one up for you?

I am pretty sure that the tri-tip is the end of the sirloin, and is named because of its shape. Maybe its called something else in locally? Dont know if sirloin tip roast is the same cut, could be worth asking?

tri tip

I always see Tri -tip referred to as a West Coast cut. indeed I did not hear of it here in Chicago until just recently. I can always find it at Costco, if you have one locally. Sometimes it is already cut into steaks though I have always gone with the roast. Wonderful cut though not inexpensive.
