@Steve M what you didn’t see was all the water damage my leaky fridge did to our wood floors, so much so that I had water squirting up through the wooden cracks when I stepped in certain spots. We planned to update the kitchen in a few years but given the fact that the floor and fridge had to be replaced immediately we decided to do everything and be done with it

Smart move, I had to replace my floors from a leaky ice maker. My kitchen could use a renovation and I am pretty much stuck with the same exact cabinet footprint unless I want the floor $ to go to waste.

I actually had someone on Instagram ask if I’m planning an exhibition somewhere post COVID. 😳 Apparently I’m now part of the local art scene (riiiiiiiight...).

And then there’s @Steve M...”is that a chicken bone?” Hamburger galaxy, Steve! Hamburger! 😂😂

    Don't ruin my dreams. :smt046

Thanks, it turned out great. The 32 is so luxurious to cook on. Made the reverse sear in these 3” ribeyes so easy and man they had that lil char and juicy in the middle. Can’t wait to try more!!!!

    Gorgeous steak!

My first time sport fishing and we caught this while we were fishing for tuna! Weighed in at 760lbs. We were in Mexico. Gave most of it away to the poor people who needed food so nothing went to waste. Catching this fish is a really weird and funny story but a little to long to put in this post. I hope everybody has a wonderful New Year and stay safe. Looking forward to posting more next year.

Bruce, that's an impressive fish. I think the only time I ever ate marlin was in the Caribbean. It was an option on wood fired oven pizza and it was delicious.

did you reel it in? My dad caught one roughly the same size on the outer banks and he said it was the worst fishing experience of his life lol. He was begging people to take the rod.

@Steve MI’ve never actually deep fried anything in my life. Do you cook your fries that way? I’m searching for the proper way to execute this.

I haven't in a long time but I was reading up on it a while back and it probably yields the best results. I have an air fryer that I would like to try those types of fries on it.

@Steve H truth be told the fries looked better than they tasted i tried to bake them in the oven per the recipe and they were a bit soggy. not sure if it was because I was too excited to finally use my new fresh fry press and i cut them early and let them sit for two hours outside in the air or if it's just because it's cooking them in the oven. when i took them out there were stil a big soggy so i threw them back in under the broiler and rotated the baking sheet a few times to get them crispy.  ended up saving them, but next time I will use the air fryer, problem with the air dryer is the basket it too small to do a single air fry and get enough fries for the amily. so my theory is i will do 2-3 air fry batches get the fries crispy, put them on a baking sheet then hit them with herbs and truffl oil and cheese and warm/finish the batch in the oven to get them all warm.

not sure, maybe the venerable @tony b has already worked this out. he's the Air Fryer master, but attempt at the fries left a lot to be improved on. I will say though that I've had that french fry press in a box since August and that was fun to use and super easy so that was a W. And the kids absolutely loved the Kale chips so that was another W.

Yes, I like the looks of that FF press. They looked delicious and I wondered if it was a double fried batch.

I've pretty much stopped shopping there because they are always sold out of what I'm looking for, even when I tag something to get the notice that it's back in stock.

I ran into the same issues, especially early in the pandemic. Things would disappear from my cart.

I've had pretty good luck with crowd cow but they seem to be a little more pricey.

One of these days I will pull the trigger on getting some A5 Wagyu. I better sell more product at work and get a big commission check for that to happen.

I was joking but it is pretty dang tasty. The only one I've done was a brisket flat - essentially 4.5 lbs of flavor.

  9. Are you going by dome temperature or a separate probe? I generally go by dome temps.

Also, I have seem my temps drop when adding a smoke pot. In those cases, I opened things up some to get my temp back up but watched it so it wouldn't get away from me. Once it gets there, you can start adjusting back to the normal settings.
