Pre-Dry, Pre-Smoke and now Pre-Heating

Recommended Posts

In this cat and mouse game of building the best ceramic possible, problems are of the utmost importance as without them, I would not come up with solutions.

Pre Drying removes the bulk moisture from the body.

But I still get reports of venting albeit minor and small fissures in the grout. Although this is typical for this material, I don't want my customers to have to deal with any of this.

My solution to this problem is to pre-dry, pre-smoke to test for leaks and now pre-heat to over 800º. We heat them on a 10 hour schedule.

This ensures that your cookers is truly ready to go when it arrives at your door. And will be trouble free as possible.

One more reason to buy a Komodo..

Another Point of View..

Not meaning to be castigated as a tree hugging carnivore may I make the following observation.

The world is coming to recognize that we are running out of fossil fuel and that the burning of it increases the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is killing the planet.. I would suggest forgoing 10 hours per KK of wasted gas which only cures a minor and in fact principally cosmetic problem.. If people know that it can happen and it is pointed out in large letters in any documentation with the cooker, then they wont be surprised

I don't think anyone wants to return the cooker because of the problem. I am sure you want to eliminate the problem but not only is this non earth friendly but adds to the cost of the product.

Let the flames begin.. :-)

No flames from this direction. I am all about doing what I can to minimize my impact on the Earth. However, avoiding cracks on my grill is not something I am willing to sacrifice :D Ranks right up there with driving to work rather than riding the Metro bus. If I wanted that, I would stick with the crack-riddled mexican grill that I have. Compared to the refined cookers Dennis is delivering - my Mexi-K IS a metro bus!

Honor Gaia?

gaia0336.jpg

:smt017 So-named global warming pretends to be a scientific conversation but looks more like an old religion with doctrines of personal sacrifice and self denial, evangelical calls for repentance from sin, and promises of salvation. But that is just an observation.. flame away..

Actually I agree that all the points made re Gaia and parallel to religious fervor are accurate.. But that does not mean that the science is wrong..

It is also true that horses and sheep are both 4 legged mammals that live in North America .. But so what. Lots of similarities but so what.

To quote an old sayings.. "even Paranoids have real enemies" :-)

I have to believe the science is wrong...not even science.

Who was it that said, (loose quote here) "I don't know what is more arrogant, to think that humans have played a major role in global warming, or that we can actually do anything about it".

I'm certainly for being planet friendly, but have to follow the crowd that says the sun does what the sun wants.

You gotta wonder why Mars is also having a global warming now too...how we gonna help them out?

If you have looked at the science and find it inconclusive as science then you have an obligation not to believe the science. If you have a problem with the concept of science dealing with systems as large and complex as analayzing global climate . Than that is also your privelige. Nuff said

The question about global warming being scientifically true or false is irrelevant. I did not raise that question.

To agree completely that the science is 100% accurate and that we must therefore obey the laws of environmentalists to honor the planet would miss the relevant question. The relevant question is, “For whom must you acknowledge the requirement to make personal sacrifices?â€
