@Flemming  great looking spin. What type of lump do you have down in there?

It‘s Marabu charcoal from Cuba. Unfortunately I can’t get my hands on Dennis COCO Char here in Germany, the shipping cost alone would be around $750 and in top of that Tariffs and Vat. But I’m very happy with the Marabu, clean burn very little ashes.

I'm a big fan of Marabu. It looked like Marabu which is why I asked. I'm down to 2 bags. Hopefully it'll come back in stock soon at Fogo.

First truly hot weekend of the summer and one of the few weekends where we didn't have too much going on.  So, nothing but pool and KKQ!

Saturday, I fired up some great baby backs along with elotes (Mexican grilled corn) on the side.  Props to @SSgt93 for turning me on to Albukirky rubs - the sweet hot was the ticket!

But today was the real winner - a couple of gorgeous tomahawk ribeyes from my local butcher (Costco!).  The 2 zone capability of the 32 is awesome - steaks came out perfect.  A little quick and dirty strawberry shortcake put a bowtie on a great weekend.

Looking good! Kirk of AlbuKirky makes some amazing rubs and jellies for sure. I love the Green Chile on skirt steak to make Carne Asade; simply fantastic!

Normally not a 100% grass fan either, but this steak could change my mind.

We have a farmer near here who raises and sells Piedmontese beef. Supposedly much leaner and yet more tender and flavorful than regular beef due to a gene they carry. Seems contradictory since we’re taught fat is flavor. Been meaning to give it a go.

So, was this steak one of the Piedmontese animals?  Or do we have that pleasure to come?

Not Piedmontese. That farmer sells only at a particular farmer's market in another county, so must schedule the trip.

Thanks for the tip El Pescador! Hit up my Costco today to score the cowboy ribeyes. It's a Father's Day special, so folks - get to Costco NOW!! Prime grade bone-in cowboys for $12.99/lb!! I didn't see any out in the general meat section with the other Prime cuts, so I had to ask one of the butchers. Quickly 3 of them set to work on a couple of full ribeye loins, sliced them and frenched them on the spot! I came home with 3 of these beauties! So, if you don't see them in the meat counter, ask for it!

That looks amazing, MacKenzie!

I skated tonight. Started out having dinner under the gazebo - nice evening. I was almost done when it started to darken up and I could hear thunder not far in the distance. Grabbed up everything, covered the grill, and went inside. I had just sat down at the dining room table to finish dinner when the bottom dropped out!

Chicken Tikka Masala with yogurt raita & toasted almonds, with turmeric coconut rice and pan sautéed green beans with za'atar.
