Xyn
Hello all, prospective buyer here; I won't be buying this year for sure, as I have to put a new roof on the house, but I am teetering back and forth on buying a KK next year; I want one so bad, but that's a lot of money. I'm considering the 32" Big Bad, and I was looking at the schematic and measuring out the place I wanted to put it. The segment of wall measured about 61" wide, so I think I am OK, but I couldn't find any dimensions on the side tables that attach; I just want to make sure the right shelf isn't going to block the doorway mainly. Apologies in advance if that information is available somewhere and I just didn't see it.
Kevin H
I just measured mine and I'd allow for 67" wing tip to wing tip on a 32" with the tables. You need to allow 40" from the back to the handle to allow clearance for the lid to open.

The shelves may stick out 3.5" on each side in front of a window and door respectively, but the door opens the other way so there should be about 31" clearance for people to get through the door. Alternatively, I could probably scoot the KK over 7" and it would be off center with the left shelf mostly in front of the window, which would look a bit tacky but isn't a big deal. If I do buy, I was planning on keeping the shelves in the house when I wasn't using the KK just to try and protect the teak. The 40" should be fine, but if it needs to be that far out from the wall it does seem like it would sort of be in the way when not in use. I could put it on the front side of the porch instead and open the lid off the porch, but I would rather it not get rained on, cover or not, when it costs that much.
