bryan Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 http://niteize.com/collections/figure-9 Neat tool. I carry in old medicine pill bottle in vehicle dash. No it wont pull a car. goggle search finds them cheaper.
linuxwrangler Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Yeah, I have several. Just used them to tie the sled to the roof-rack a week ago.
bryan Posted March 1, 2010 Author Report Posted March 1, 2010 Yeah' date=' I have several. Just used them to tie the sled to the roof-rack a week ago.[/quote'] Which size are you using?
linuxwrangler Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I have four of the small and a couple large. Looks like they have a bigger one now called the "big". I usually keep the large pair in the glove box.
bryan Posted March 1, 2010 Author Report Posted March 1, 2010 I have the small w/para-cord and plan to tarp a pickup load of pine straw for my garden. It has to be easier than the bulky crank straps. I goggled the "Big". Seems a cheap ($ way to secure heavy loads.
linuxwrangler Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 For tying to things with holes/rings (rings in truck-beds, grommets in tarps), the one with the build-in carabiner looks nice (http://niteize.com/collections/carabiner-figure-9) but I've never used one.
bryan Posted March 1, 2010 Author Report Posted March 1, 2010 How do you think this one compares? http://hitchcraft.net/compare9.html?gcl ... swodjCrCdA
linuxwrangler Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I had never seen that one, before. Looks interesting but the nice thing about the Figure-9 is that it is simple and way cheaper. IIRC, I paid less for a set of 4 _with_ lines than it costs for one of these.
