One can find many reasons to buy a Komodo Kamado. First, in my opinion, it is the best kamado grill out there. You will not find,too many, if any, arguments about that fact on the web. Second, it will enhance and add elegance to anyone's backyard. Both guys and gals seem to mostly agree on that point. No family arguments. Third, with this style of grill, you spent more time visiting and less time cooking. Fourth, I believe that this style of grill uses less energy and saves money. I cooked a 5 lb. prime rib for my uncle with a little more than two coconut charcoal chunks. I really like the coconut charcoal and will not barbecue with any other charcoal. It burns hotter than other commercial charcoal without imparting any distinctive favor. You can choose a small chunk of wood to impart any favor you desire. Metal grills radiate the heat off all surface areas and are prone to rust.. The Komodo Kamado holds the heat inside more efficiently. If you are buying wood and using an open or closed grill, I believe that it is a more expensive way to go. I barbecued a turkey, one year, In a downpour. No problem. I feel, anyway, even if it is more expensive; it is a better way to go. Fifth, there is a old world ambiance about lighting a fire, and barbecuing some meat. The high tech gas barbecues, I feel lose this special feeling. You might as well cook inside your kitchen. With the Komodo Kamado, you have cooking diversity. Sixth, this is a barbecue that you can pass on to family. It will carry all the memories that go with the Komodo Kamado. Before, I bought my first kamado grill; I talked to a guy that said his father had his kamado grill (unknown kamado) for forty years. Seventh, it has a survivor aspect to it. If all gas and electricity go out, you are good to go. Especially, if, you have a pallet of charcoal in the garage. Yet, you will use this every spring, summer, and fall, and possibly winter to keep your skills up. Finally, I think the reason I bought my Komodo Kamado is because I just wanted to have some fun added to my life. Vernon M California
