  1. Last weekend my brother in law was flying his plane to Oregon to watch the eclipse.
One mile from the airport, something went wrong and my sister lost a husband, his kids a father, I lost a brother but the world lost the most extraordinary person I’ve ever known. Mark was simply brilliant, this is evident when you read his list of employers SRI, Darpa, JPL, Google etc..
The norm is that people this gifted are usually awkward socially or inept in some way but Mark was as also the most well rounded person you’ve ever met.. He never rubbed it in but I always was very aware he saw the world with much more understanding and clarity then I and other mortals did. I’ve really been struggling with his departure this week, trying to come to terms with my sister and her family’s loss, my loss but I keep feeling like the world really lost a one in a billion guy.. Only silver lining here is that he loved flying and if you have to go too soon, best to be doing what you love.. Here’s to Mark and what he loved.. RIP Mark Rich.. I will really miss your stories and hope to catch up some day in the not so near future..

  3. Not a KK owner yet hopefully will soon be joining the ranks of KK owners

    Hi Donny - welcome!

I'm also London based (well Surrey actually) and have my 22" KK TT on the water as I write this. ETA 28 June. Can't wait.

Any queries or advice, please shout.

  4.
Our youngest daughter graduated from college and we had a graduation party for her on Saturday. I did a 13lb packer brisket on the KK and once it was resting we upped the temp and did burgers and dogs as well. I spun two pineapples using a recipe from John Setzler at the Guru:

It was quite hectic as we had 30 family and friends over so I didn't get many pictures. Here are a few.

The graduate, the brisket with black ops rub (man did that thing shrink) and the pineapple.12895dd0378be342d45a08eda7e07666.jpge714036348111830d844ae6a6459579b.jpg057c57de0a695bd38d87b77dd4b5e16b.jpg313722799e8c4ed1d876ea7be0f9d112.jpg

It looks like boerewors from South Africa. I was getting all excited that there might be another Saffa on the forum...!
    Looks excellent though...
