  1. I owned a couple of kamados before the komodo kamado. I agree with the op's comments. I will say, I like quality. The Komdo kamado exudes this. It's beauty and well thought out functionality, make it a pleasure to cook with. I always enjoy the reactions of friends who see it for the first time; they are impressed, especially when I point out the features of this over engineered cooker. I am an avid photographer. I shoot both Canon and Leica. I prefer the Leica equipment due to the high quality and the enjoyment of use; same with the Komodo Kamado.
  2. Did the curing and then cooked burgers same day, then on Wednesday I smoked a salmon on an alder plank. On Thursday I roasted a Turkey. Yesterday I smoked a pork butt. Today it will be steaks! Everyone happy with the food. I am using this week as practice with the bbq guru; nice to have the wifi and watch it on my phone. Having fun!
  3. Thanks! I used a Kamado from another company for several years, so I know how good the food can be. I never used a temp controller in the past, but am looking forward to low and slows in which I don't have to focus as much on temps for several hours.
  4. I got the wifi guru with three meat probes. I ordered the marine blue kk that should have reached the warehouse today.
  5. I have owned a Kamado from a different manufacturer for several years. I no longer have that cooker and wanted the best so I ordered one from this site. I spoke to Dennis twice before ordering and I appreciate the help he offered. I am really looking forward to cooking on this new ceramic! I ordered a guru today, as well. I've never used a temperature controller for low and slow and I am sure looking forward to not having to monitor temps for hours on end. I will be reading up on everyone's shared recipes and will be trying many I am sure!

    Weight and decks

Noticed the weight and was wondering how safe putting a large on a second floor deck would be?
