Thanks for all the info everyone!! There is no doubt in my mind that the KK is the finest cooker around. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to drop the cash on one. The one thing I don't want to do is buy something different and then end up buying a KK anyway. I'm still in negotiations with the wife, she is very supportive of me but I have some expensive hobbies besides cooking

Thanks everyone for the welcome!! I stumbled onto the KK while doing some research on kamado cooking and I haven't been able to seriously consider another brand ever since. The design features and the quality of materials that are put into these cookers is absolutely amazing. I sent an email to Dennis with a few questions and we will see where it goes from there!!

Hello to all!! I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now and I decided it was time to join. I got into smoking meat about a year ago and purchased a RecTec mini to get me started into this wonderful hobby and I have been hooked ever since. Recently I have been venturing more and more into the grilling side of things and I have been researching kamado grills. While the RecTec is awesome for the low and slows, I'm just not that satisfied with its grilling / searing capabilities. That's where the kamados come into the picture. Long story short I ended up finding this forum and I am doing a little research to see if a Komodo Kamado purchase is feasible in the near future!
