  1. Hey KKers. We have a vacation home near Lake Tahoe and the area recently implemented a "burn ban" due to fire risk. This runs from mid-June through November (prime cooking months of course). What is banned? "Residential campfires/bonfires that burn anything other than gas. BBQ’s that burn solid fuel like charcoal briquettes, wood or lump charcoal including the Big Green Egg type." I was hoping this was a one-time ban, but it looks like it will be every year because dumb-dumbs don't know how to demonstrate basic safety protocol. "Truckee Fire District has experienced a number of escaped fires caused by improper charcoal ash disposal and campfires." So my ask of you is... what might some alternatives be? Can the KK be converted to gas or pellet (which seems risky and silly)? Is there someone in a non-fire prone area of Northern California interested in purchasing a KK? Should I Just try to cook in the off-season months? Luckily we have another KK in our primary home in San Francisco. Here is the info on the burn ban: https://www.truckeefire.org/burnban
