I have to agree what a great read. I just ordered mine.... Same basic scenario as yours... Dennis has been very responsive. My wife has given me the same...... hmmm what do I call it....... skepticism........ I am optimistic that my story will end as yours. Have a great weekend.

Thanks
Thanks for the helpful tips and color comMeatary . The Cooker should be at my house I think this Friday. Woo Hoo. I have guests coming for the weekend. One is my retired ex boss. He is a true connoisseur of fine food and gadgets within which to cook with. If this works out, he will buy one. My first attempt is going to be some pork butts. I will look for a recipe, and try to make it execute. Wish me luck., Thanks again... Keep the sarcasm coming. I travel alot for my job, but as we get to know each other if you are ever in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area perhaps we could arrange a visit. Thanks again for the tips and advice. I will take pictures and pass on and also provide a review. The next thing I will try will be some baby backs. Hope to get them both out this weekend.

So Sorry
My intention was that people have not heard of Council Bluffs, Hence I put Omaha... I am rapidly rethinking that strategy... lol
Any guidance out there with regard to purchasing a Guru? Is it a nice to have or a have to have?

Just thinking out loud
I do not own one yet......... That stated, a possible solution could be to cut the sizeof the leggs and put on an adjustable caster that would a person to adjust to the size they like. You would want it still be attractive and not detract from the physical appearance. Perhaps even removing the leggs and have a quick connect with a caster... Just thinking here....

Iowa Boy at Heart
I actually live in Council Bluffs Iowa, stated Omaha as most people have never heard of it... I thought I might add Omaha in case at some point someone wanted to take a look at the grill if they were thinking of making the purchase. I live on Lake Manawa in the Southwest part of the state and cannot wait to make others oogle from the aromas. Look forward to getting to know you all.
BTW: Undergrad and Grad degrees from the University of Iowa... Go Hawkeyes!!!!!!!!

I just ordered my new Komado. It is a Gen 2.18. I ordered it without the Gas Accessory. I hope that was the right move. All of that stated, I am a novice to grilling and looking forward to enhancing my skills. I hope to learn from all of you... Best Regards, Tim
