  1. Yeah, I've I'm on K-Guru too, but they're moving exclusively to Facebook come next January and I really prefer forums in this classic format so I'm in search for another option. thanks.
  2. well, I certainly do now! sorry for the mistake, I wasn't even aware of the Komodo Kamado line of grills until now (I thought it was a clever play on words), I was primarily looking for a forum to gather information on using this style of cooker, and when I did a global forum search, Kamado Joe turned up, so I took a leap of logic that it was probably related.
  3. Hey group, As mentioned I'm here in Oregon and the proud owner of a recently purchased Kamado Joe Classic. Really just getting my feet wet with it, as it's vastly different from my prior basic gas grills and Traeger pellet smoker. So far have had varying success with a smoked chicken, grilled t-bone steak and (my favorite so far) bourbon honey glazed smoked salmon. Hope to gain some tips and tricks from the experienced members here and hope not to make a fool of myself in trying to contribute myself. thanks for this space, Karl
  4. Hey Greg, just joined myself. Where 'bouts in the PNW? I'm here in Hillsboro OR, originally from Seattle->Portland and now here. Purchased a KJC ~1 month ago and having a blast with it. Amazing temperature control, and beats the heck out of my prior Traeger from a versatility standpoint (I don't have to have two different units for smoking and grilling!), so I'm pretty stoked with my first few cooks. Still got some learning curves to work out, but everything (okay, I overcooked some very thin t-bone steaks) has been really good so far. Hope to find some good information on this site, as everything else seems to moving to facebook, and I'm rather old school when it comes to the standard forum format. Happy grillin'! Karl
