Funny thing when you get a KK and your friends question why you need a grill like this because it’s soooooooooo over the top etc. Then, they get a chance to taste what comes off and their horizons broaden. Now I do a brisket cook and they make me  grill one for them too! Pretty funny but people just don’t get it until they taste it first hand.

So, cooked two briskets starting last night. 16.5 hours and this was the best briskets I’ve ever made. 225 the whole time, no worries. 50/50 salt and pepper rub. Here’s the one I kept, the other has already been devoured by my friend that has a gasser and thought buying a KK was  crazy 😂

looks fantastic.. !  Can you provide a few details?  Did you wrap, if so, time and temp. How long did you rest, etc.. thanks

  2. We received the new FireBoard 2 Drive last week and had a great first smoke (pork shoulder).  It provides some interesting insights into our new KK (heat spikes in the middle of the night).   The software and graphs are intuitive.  After a  16 hour cook still had 86% battery and never lost WiFi connection.   Ordered the BBQ Guru fan and will try a brisket this weekend.

  3. Thanks ALL for the kind words.. going to cure the KK during work breaks today and noticed temp gauge was not as accurate as I would like (roiling boil for a few minutes).    Started with full basket of KJ Big Chunk and will go through some heat set points hopefully all the way to 525 and hold for a few hours.  QQ - this KK rolls real easy and will need to put some type of a wheel stop so it won't roll of the limestone.. any suggestions?

Greetings fellow KK Owners and contributors!  In a span of one week went from a disappointed Big KJ3 (backorder until Nov) potential owner to a a real 21" Supreme KK owner.  Discovering KK (Forbes article) and this site after getting my second delayed shipping notice, I scoured the internet, this site among others, spoke with Dennis, ordered and took delivery last night.  The online user manual and KK forum notes made this simple.  I had this small beast unpacked, installed and clean-up by myself (wife was sipping cocktails) within 2 hours.  Look forward to my first use and wondering if there is a good consensus on the first high temp prep that anyone can share.
