I happened across this page, a rather interesting read: http://www.offroaders.com/album/centralia/centralia.htm It amazes me that this fire has been burning for over 40 years, is going to eventually burn for a likely over two and a half centurys, how (relatively) easy it would have been to extinguish early on, and worst of all the way it initially ignited!
