LarryR
I've done a pretty good job of not exposing my KK to a rain storm, until last night. When I went to bed she was still to warm from a turkey cook to put my cover on her. I wake up this a.m. and we had a rain storm overnight. I was just going to wipe her down with a clean wet rag, maybe mix some vinegar in the water to make sure I don't get any water spots. Anything else I should do and/or do I need to worry about the stainless at all?
Firemonkey
Huh? Mine stays outside uncovered in the Florida rainstorms all summer..err, all year long. Step one in getting back on track should be cook something, not clean it with vinegar and water! Seriously, the only blemish on my stainless is the discoloration on the lower draft door from heat. No other tarnish, on either KK. And the old one has been in the elements for over 3 years. I get a little but of white under the draft doors where the ash that was on the frame gets wet and leaves streaks on the tiles below the door, but that is all. You can clean it if its looking dirty, but unless you had a bunch of smoke buildup on the top hat, the rain probably wont even leave spots. In fact, the rain is what keeps the smoke buildup off of my tophat
slu
Acid Rain Given the air quality in the Valley, the acid rain may melt the KK like the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz. I advise you to immediately order another unit from Dennis!

Maybe just wipe her down with a wet rag to get the layer of gunk left on her from the rain.
slu
With all the salty moisture here, I routinely wipe the unit with a very mild dish water solution. Seems to work fine.
