Tony
Hi Dennis, Just wondering what your plans are to promote your product here in Canada? We have a few big retailers like Canadian Tire that are pretty decent to deal with. http://www.canadiantire.ca/index.jsp

Shipping was no problem. I also know some other people who would want one, so a group order may be a possibility. Norman
Tony
As spring blossoms, the local hardware stores are filled with the latest BBQs and accessories. We have Walmart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, etc. I would love to see the Komodo first hand as well. We recently had the annual home show here. It attracts thousands of people each year. This year a company was selling the Big Green Egg there. I was not really impressed by it because the hardware is painted steel and not SS. It simply would not hold up in our weather. I also thought it completely overpriced. Montreal eh? How are you liking it?

jnoble
canada Hi Tony. I completely agree. Buying in canada is no problem. About your point with the BGE. First, the BGE is a really good thing. I'm not knocking it. But. The trouble with ceramic cookers is they are expensive to make. I am still saving up to buy mine, but the point, as you made, is that the competitors have poor fit and finish. That is because they are desporately trying to make ceramic bbqs that will sell to the standard bbq market, the people that expect to pay $500 for a bbq. Dennis has realized that the ceramic bbq is a completely different creature. To make one that won't rust, have bits fall off and will look really good, will cost thousands. Even if made offshore. So he's just doing that and going for a different market. Moving up from metal weber kettles to ceramic cookers is only done if one is a foodie with perfectionistic standards. Because metal kettles work just fine. And if you are one of those foodies, like all of us on this forum, you won't accept a ceramic bbq that is obviously cheaply made. Before I found KK, I had a primo delivered. I returned it. If we are going to spend a significant amount of money, then dammnit, the machine should be made properly. Some of us guys are just like that when it comes to our tools. It's not easy being us. Cheers John Noble
T Rex
After market service John, one of the things of note with the KK's is the after market service you will get from Dennis, nothing I have ever seen except with very high end stuff like Rolex, Mercedes, etc............ I bought a couple of rotisserie baskets with varying rod attachments to fit other BBQs as it was only the basket I needed. Dennis sends the proper rods to fit the baskets (which are all the same size) when you receive your KOoker. To make a long story short, I threw out the wrong rods accidentally so I was "hooped" so to speak. I sucked up my embarrassment and sent Dennis an email asking to purchase some replacements so I could do some rotisserie KOoking...... he sent some right away and refused to let me pay him for my stupidity (including shipping costs)....... try that with a POSK!
