  1. Hey all. Had my 32” for several years now, and kinda struggle with an efficient way to clean the grill grates. I have used PBW, but struggled with trying to find a container that is big, flat and strong. (Water heater tray was too small, but an XL cement mixing pan is almost big enough.) i’m debating a wire rotary brush on a power tool if some sort, but thought I would check in here. also on the outside skin it’s pretty greasy/ black. Tried a few different products, but not in love with any of them. thanks for your thoughts!!
  2. It appears the pictures on this board are not loading. I don't think it is my computer, but maybe it is.
  3. Re: Granite work-surface Pick your own I am drooling profusely over that table.
  4. Any of you guys have any experience making your own outdoor work-space for food prep? I'm thinking about getting a slab or marble locally and putting it on-top of a normal outdoor table. I was thinking about 30"x30". Anyone have any knowledge/ experience they want to share?
  5. I saw someone post elsewhere as a side note about using a Wok with a BGE. We use our cast iron wok on the stove inside, and honestly, I have trouble getting it hot enough to cook mongolian beef at the right speed. It seems like one might not want to cook with a wok inside of a ceramic grill because of the risk of splatter of oils/ etc... but maybe that is just silly. Can you/ should you/ do you use a Wok on your grill? If so, is there one you recommend?
  6. Do you guys ever use cast iron on your KKs? Let's say you wanted to cook crepes/ eggs/ pancakes/ stir fry in the manner of a mongolian grill? Is there any equipment you would recommend/ not recommend?
  7. I wanted to hear back from some people on this forum about if/ how you deal with cooking different types of food at the same time. My current grill is one of those Drum Barrel Grills (picture is not my grill, but random example from internet): And I tend to make a pile of lump charcoal, spread it around some, and work it from there. Honestly, my best (and favorite) grilling is when I am talking with a cold drink in hand, so I don't pay a lot of attention to if I use the different 'heat zones' or not... but I suspect I at least use them to compensate for the variability I know I get with my current grill. I specifically want to know if you guys find the need to get the 'Charcoal Basket Splitter Kit'/ find it is not necessary/ some other solution, when you want to cook different things at the same time... say veggies, bratwurst, marinated chicken, burgers and steak all at the same time.
  8. Re: Compare... 19.5 KK vs Yeah, that is what I was getting at... With the difference in grill layers... Is the 19.5 the same cooking surface as an XL egg?
  9. When it comes to cooking area, how does the 19.5 KK compare to other like-sized grills? Is it the same cooking area as say an XL BGE or BigJoe (or whatever size is their 'big size').
  10. Re: Most of forum recovered from Hackers.. Looks like I'm new enough that all of my threads were in the group of threads that got hacked. I'll try to recreate later - huge day of work, catching up for being out for several days for a wedding.
  11. Re: Most of forum recovered from Hackers.. Hackers and forum spammers get me posses too. I have a forum of my own, and I understand how angry it makes me everytime one of them manages to infiltrate.
