    Thermometer

I just got my thermometer in the mail. It's a pretty snug fit in the thermometer hole. I crammed it in as best I could and it's sticking out about 5 inches or so. Is this the way it's supposed to be? If I keep smashing it down, will it fit in all the way? I stopped because I was worried about the stem breaking. Do I need to get some sort of a special drill bit to widen the thermometer hole? Just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same experience as me

    Main grill

Thanks Dennis! That would be great!

    Main grill

My main grill does not sit down evenly on the ledge inside the cooker. I can sit it down on one side, but then the other side is kind of propped up at a very slight angle against the side wall, maybe just under a half inch above the ledge. I just wanted to find out if this is normal. The food cooks fine.
  4. Sorry, no pictures yet. I had to move the cooker to the backyard by myself, so I didn't think of taking any pictures. It's actually pretty easy to move. The top comes off quite easily, and the two pieces by themselves are not too hard to move around. I didn't have to go up any stairs or anything though. I would've needed help for that. Maybe I can get some pictures when my spare ribs are cooking tonight.
  5. Well, it turns out that I don't have to worry about getting it off of my truck. A guy just came today with a lift gate and dropped it off. I had no idea that it was coming so soon! It was a nice surprise. I've been waiting to hear from Dennis about the delivery date so I coordinate getting some guys together to help me get it, and all of a sudden it just shows up on my driveway. Only bad part was I didn't have anything ready to cook so I didn't get to try it out tonight...but I did manage to pick up some spare ribs for tomorrow!
  6. Re: Welcome Hey! I have a K3 as well! Still works fine, but I don't use the big K at all anymore.
  7. hmmmm...I just got a sample of the cow lick one...I'll give it a try tonight
  8. Hi everyone I just purchased one of the "Komodos for every budget" cookers. I currently have a K7 that has seen better days. It needs frequent band adjustments and has a big crack in the back. I thought that I was going to have to sell the K7 in order get the KK, but thanks to the "Komodos for every budget deal", I was able to get one. Pretty hard to sell a K7 when I have to tell them about the crack in it, the band adjustments, and the lack of customer service. Anyhow, I can't wait to get a look at the OTB. I've been wanting one of these for about a year now and am pretty excited that I was able to get one.
  9. Thanks Fetzervalve. If I can't find 3 guys to help, I'll probably do something like that. Although I just saw the weights listed here http://www.komodokamado.com/forum/FAQ.htm Are these weights still accurate? I'm getting a textured OTB. If the lower part is in the 250lb range, then my neighbor and I could probably lift it out ourselves. But if it's 400lb like Curly said then we may need a couple more guys.
  10. I just saw this http://www.komodokamado.com/forum/viewt ... 2x4+pickup Seems like an easy way to do it, I might give it a try
  11. Re: Getting a cooker off a pickup When you say 400lbs, is that the weight of the whole cooker or just the bottom? It sounds like this cooker weighs less than the mexi-K. I had my mexi-K (the one with the 12 inch crack in the back) delivered to my house and the truck had a lift gate. I'm going to be picking up my KK in my pickup, so it would be really nice if it was not as heavy. Sounds like it's pretty easy to get the top off, which is helpful.
  12. Hi everyone I just sent a payment in for a cooker. I'm planning on picking it up from the terminal. Anyone have any ideas of how to get it off of my pickup once I get it home?
