Splitter air gap on one side?

Do you have the firebox splitter for 2-zone cooking on your 32" or larger?

1. Flip it. That's it.

The semicircle plate (pictured) looks symmetrical, but one half has greater protuberance than the other. If yours looks like this, simply flip it around.

 

I asked KK support about this, and they went so far as to send a video demonstrating the solution.

I feel like I should have tried this myself before emailing support. I'll do better not to waste Dennis's time next time I have a point of confusion.
