scouterpf Posted June 21, 2008 Report Share Posted June 21, 2008 1) To make my low and slow go without tiny pieces falling through between the rods I have placed a 9" cast iron sewer stainer/vent in our basket before lighting. The dust that filters down is not filled with pieces of unburned charcoal and the amount of dust is extremely small. 2) The trap door is used by me to add various chunks of wood (pecan, apple, cherry) as long cooks go o, I have never run out of charcoal after 20 hr. cooks(small piglet).
