tlinder Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 My friend Roger is planing on placing the KK on his terrace that is made out of wood. It's probably a good idea to place it on a crome plate to protect the wood from burning coal and grease but what diameter would you recommend? Is one by one meter enough? Thank you in advance for your input!
Firemonkey Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 That sounds like plenty of coverage. Here in the US they sell mats that are designed for this. Maybe you can find something similar locally. http://www.google.com/products?q=grill+ ... checkout=1 As long as the mat is large enough to catch any embers that may come out of the lower doors, you will be fine.
Baby Huey Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Those mats work great, I have one (that I bought from Lowes) under my Chiminea.
johnnyboy Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Wooden balcony??? If it's a wooden deck type; you might want to consider the weight of the KK and spacing of the support joists.

Thank you for the input. It's a very solid concrete construction which is just covered with wood. So there is probably nothing to worry about . The spacing between the joists is also very small.
