  1. BTW, please feel free to "like" the BGE comparison video preview to your Facebook page. We're hoping to increase awareness for the final version. Every little bit helps. Thanks to all for your support!
  2. Thanks. We're in post-production (editing) right now. On schedule to publish final copy later this spring.
  3. **UPDATE 4** (April 2014): Short preview of Big Green Egg vs 19.5" Komodo Kamado video now available on YouTube: http://youtu.be/GEhbYAGjBO8
  4. Add me to the list too! Finally a cover option for us 19.5" KK owners (fingers crossed )!
  5. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please FYI - New posting on Grateful Griller's web site with detailed photos from the video shoot: Comparing Kamado Art with a Kamado artifact
  6. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please LOL!! Good one Tony! On that note - principle photography completed yesterday and after 3 months of waiting, I finally fired up the KK!! YAY!!! Here's a snap of her first smoke: n67506
  7. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please In preparation for tomorrow's video shoot, I have the KK and a BGE ready to go in the backyard. Took a picture next to each other and they look as if to be in conversation. Added the balloons -> feel free to submit your ideas for quotes. n67505
  8. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please Just got my hands on a copy of the KK manual (much thanks to DucatiCraig). I wasn't aware of the curing process for venting solvent (!!!). Just in time too! Scheduled to perform the first cook for tomorrow's video shoot. Here's a picture of the curing process using a gas burner (Dennis, please feel free to add this photo to the KK manual). n67504
  9. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please Principle photography scheduled for this Friday ( July 26th ). Anyone have any suggestions for quick and colourful recipes which will photograph well on the KK? Thanks in advance. _Julian.
  10. Re: Vent Settings Is there a KK manual? Seriously!? How can I get a copy?
  11. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please Thanks Bruce, The second text effect was a test for a 3D treatment. I faked it using 2-dimensional text. If I have more time, I'll try it out with the 3D text effect.

Re: 32'' Hey Sav, Your best bet is to hold a discussion with the owner of Komodo Kamado (Dennis Linkletter). He can advise you regarding which KK will best suit your needs. Dennis is currently on vacation in the US, so it may take some time for him to respond. _Julian
  13. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please Original post (at the top of this thread) updated again with a third video (Text effects): http://youtu.be/jlbKymhcTsY _Julian
  14. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please Hey Bruce, Good eye for detail! Please take note however that these are all "test" shots for camera angles. The sequences are by no means complete. The context is slightly different as there are also plans to add dynamic text (involves another round of tests). BTW, the "pulling plug" was for future shot to show installation of a BBQ guru blower - however I still have to get my hands on one. Good of you to notice. Keep the comments coming! _Julian
  15. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please You're absolutely right about restraint! Fortunately, the "Grateful Griller" (world reknowned "Kamado Guru" and fellow KK owner) is located in the same city and was gracious enough to loan me a Primo Jr while I am waiting patiently for the film shoot. He even posted an article on his blog about my new KK (http://www.gratefulgriller.com/2013/06/14/alas-grillers-yet-another-dragon-has-found-its-way-to-canada/). I just updated my original post with a second video link to more test footage. _Julian (KamadoCobra)
  16. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please Thanks Robert. Agreed. I'm a former video editor with over 20 years experience - now in Marketing. I was appalled by the general lack of quality KK footage available on the web. A good friend of mine is an award winning Director of Photography and will be dropping by in a few weeks to help me film my KK. Any ideas for future videos (e.g. instructional how-to's) would be greatly appreciated. _Julian (KamadoCobra)
  17. Re: New KK Video in the works - your feedback please Ha Ha! Thanks. Truth is I have had my KK for 3 months but am unable to use it. I have had to keep it "clean" until the film crew arrives and have also done lots of prep work; cleaning, disassembling, and buffing the KK so that it's "catalog perfect". Needless to say, I'm being teased by family and friends for spending all this money on a BBQ and have not yet used it (Arrrghhh!). So if you want a clean "Canadian" version, be prepared to not have access to your BBQ for a few months! Incidentally - what made you choose a KK? Was it your first Kamado purchase, or did you have previous experience with other grills (BGE, etc.)? _Julian (KamadoCobra)
  18. Hello fellow KK'ers, Over the past several months, I've been developing a video review project for the KK. Some early test footage can be seen here: **UPDATE 2**: Second video available here: http://youtu.be/U70lfGYZPz8 **UPDATE 3** : Third video added with TEXT EFFECTS: http://youtu.be/jlbKymhcTsY Filming is scheduled in a few weeks. In the interim, would love to get your feedback regarding specific reasons why YOU chose to buy a KK (over a BGE, Primo, etc). Also, let me know if there's any type of (new) videos which you feel would be of benefit (e.g. "how to's"). Please feel free to PM me. Thanks! _Julian (KamadoCobra)
  19. Re: Re-Newed my Vows and on a US Road-trip Congrats Dennis! I still can't believe you were taking business calls on your family vacation/honeymoon FYI- he answered the phone while in Vegas... Wow! That's dedication! But seriously, enjoy the time with your family, 'cuz you won't ever get it back! Hoping that you stay "disconnected" (from work) for the remainder of your family vacay.
  20. Re: New KK owner in Ottawa, Canada Happy to hear minimum "ready-stock" to be maintained in California warehouse. IMHO, Pebble tile "look" compliments it best. Can't wait to see new high-capacity lid design! Julian (KamadoCobra)
  21. Hello world! Recently took delivery of a new 19.5" OTB "Lil 'Isla" with every option I could get my hands on. IMHO, the 19.5" is an under-appreciated design. A true work of art - especially with the pebble tile! Online pictures DO NOT do the"Lil 'Isla" justice. Got to see it up close and for real to truly understand. Still have it in storage since May - waiting for professional video crew to shoot it for an online review. In the meantime, I'm "getting by" with a PrimoJR (aarggghh). Can't wait to fire up my new "Bayi Naga", which translates to "Baby Dragon" in Indonesian. Cheers, Julian (KamadoCobra) p.s. Just got a mention on gratefulgriller's site: http://www.gratefulgriller.com/2013/...way-to-canada/ n68752
