Did you buy the 12v cord from Fred or just go to Radio Shack?

Sanny, I saw that posting, very dramatic! Don't think I'll be roasting marshallows like the "Roaming Gnome" !

I'm sure this has topic has been visited before, has anyone used the KK burner to cook with alone? I seem to remember this was accepted on the concrete cooker, with such a large burner it looks like you could (if you had to).

In my line of work I count my fingers every day; still have most all of them!

HP you are truly talented, to create beauty from an ordinary object is indeed a gift. One that did not come without great sacrifice and experience, I'm sure!

Tobias' date=' just got my Guru, everything looks in great condition, except the probe wires look as though they have been cooked. Will they still function, or should I call Shotgun Fred for a replacement? I would have bought this anyway for the price, no worry.Thank you once again[/quote']
Sorry, that I did not wright back earlier, but I'm on a roadtrip at the moment and don't have internet access everywhere. I did not realize, that the wires didn't look good anymore. The probes worked still fine the last time I used them and I can't remember ever using them with too much temp. Could you please test them with boling water if everything still works fine. If not please tell me and I will give you a refund.
No refund needed, the wires look as if they were heated to a point where the insulation started to bead up in spots. Haven't tested them yet, we are putting in a new floor at the shop( my knees are killing me). Also having a dick-ins of a time sliding the adapter tube in the opening. I don't think it's gonna fit, I've tried lubricating it and sliding it in but it gets stuck. When I tried to remove it the whole outer plate seemed to loosen up. Thanks to this forum I tapped out the plug from the outside in or I would have knocked the outer plate off. The hole is noticeably larger in diameter than the opening of the outer plate. So unless somebody has a better idea I will probably just remove the plate and use some fireplace cement to reinstall it once I get the darned tube inserted.

I do a few segments on a couple of local Chicago affiliates throughout the year. Hope to do a few grilling segments this spring . Pretty tough to get my Godzilla moved back and forth. And they're not keeping it either!(unless they were willing to buy one or two!)
Maybe next year I can get one in for the Chicago Fancy Food Show at McCormick Place. If I can get some local KK owners to help out we could man the booth all week long( could you imagine the sales Dennis?)

I agree with Woodie, tiles look like some kind of agate . Volcanic agate? Surabayan agate?

My advice(which I haven"t taken yet) is to set a strict exercise regimen and keep your metabolism high. Trust me you will need it.

Re: Camping size
Dennis, my birthday is in late June, do you think you could r&d one, and get one ready by then ? I think green would be the best hue for a camping model!! Or maybe variegated greens for a "camo" cooker! And of course misc tans & browns and grays for Day Desert camp cooker!!Just big enough to get a chicken on, or 1 butt maybe...Maybe with the facility to be able to easily remove the dome for easier transport if necessary. Would be great if it fit in one of the bays in my motorhome!
I like the camo idea--would look good in deer camp!

Save your chicken carcass and make fantastic broth/soup in the pressure cooker.
