Re: First Roti Chicken
I have actually switced to cooking my roti-chicken over direct fire. I no longer have the heat deflector or a drip pan below the chickens. Skin comes out crisp and not burned. I cook at the same temp... 350.

Re: 1st bacon
Looks great. Do I see a yeast starter in an Erlenmeyer flask in the bacon picture? I have an Oatmeal Stout in my fermChamber (old fridge with homebuilt temp controller) right now.

Re: Man! These house sparrows are vicious!
Hi All,I have lots of golden finches in my yard that were being bullied by the sparrows. I decided that enough was enough and bought a repeating sparrow trap. Here is where it gets interesting. I tried bread and millet for 10 days and nothing so I decided to try something unusual. I took a robins nest the sparrows destroyed, then took the empty robins egg shell they also destroyed and put it inside the nest. This was then placed in the bait portion of the trap. two days pass and I have 3 male sparrows. They just wanted to destroy that egg. WFT!
I have been a Purple Martin landlord for years and I make it my duty to kill as many Sparrows as I can every year. Traps work very well baited with cracked corn or long dry strings of grass during nesting season. They are not protected and can be trapped & killed without any issue. They are non-native to the US and are a real problem for our native cavity nesting birds! You can find traps here http://purplemartin.org

Update: I have used the Cobb several times now and it is a great small grill for camping & tailgating.

Now what kind of question is that?
"No problem dude...only fry's your brain if you smoke it everyday for a year"

Re: Smoke pot?
Hi,I am going out today to buy a dutch oven. I'm going to give the smoke pot idea a try. I Was thinking about a bayou classic 1qt dutch oven but wondering if it's too big, too small or just right. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe
PS I was also considering 3-4" threaded iron pipe but I'm unsure if I'd ever get the caps loose after a cook.
Just drill 4 or 5 holes in bottom and you are good to go. Works just fine.

Anyone ever BBQ/Smoked a Pheasant? Have any good recipes???

Probably because the producers said: "Not everyone has a KK, you need to show a regular old BBQ grill!"...or maybe the Today Show has some kind of deal with Weber and any time the do a BBQ spot they have to show a Weber. :P
