Mr. Twenty Three was hot after a beet roasting session...and scallops sounded good tonight so flames were allowed to lick my cast iron at 550-ish...and a little brown butter provided the lube.   Tasty.   And since I was bach-ing it tonight...this was a single serving

Hello PRippley...................thought of you and your new camping grill;

 

We are down in Florida this week checking up on Mother Dear (86 years young and she is down here for 3 months).....anyway we bought our portable camping grill with us.  We were only going to cook for 3 and some how it grew to be 7 people.  All the little "gadgets" we already had for the cooker did not help us any, so.......................We went to the store and bought a disposable cooking grate and formed it to become the second level cooking grate. MacGyver would be proud!!!!

 

Too funny what you can do to make the little grills work for you in a pinch.   Thought of you and had to share!!!!

Love this post Jon!!  MacGyver might be able to assemble it, but I bet he wouldn't be able to cook on it like you!  Those steaks looks great!

An inspired last minute rack of lamb today!  My family prefer it cooked closer to medium and the photo is crappy, but we were all really impressed with moist the lamb was!

I agree Tony, it does start some effort to remember to keep feeding them.  

I'm going to make another couple of loaves this week and then I'll keep it in the fridge, so that I only have to feed it once a week.  I might have to set a once a week, repeating alarm so I don't forget! 

Last month my first choice was the pizza but I didn't enter it.

For this month its hard to figure what will win, sometimes simpler is better.

Its really all about the presentation...make something that will photograph well and show off the ingredients with lots of colour.
