Just kegged my Witbier this afternoon. Hit the homebrew supply store for the stuff to make my Oktoberfest. A little late this year, but hope to brew it Sunday.

I brewed two beers last Sunday with my son. The first was a 14 gallon batch of a double IPA and the second batch was a 20 gallon batch of honey brown ale. My son took 6 gallons home with him. He has his own system but he likes to collaborate on recipes so we brew at my house and split between us. It is also nice to have a helper when it comes time for cleanup!Good luck with the Oktoberfest. I really like the style.

  2. Kick the tires and light the fires!! The maiden voyage has begun! Beef ribs are on Obsession! Rubbed with olive oil and Dizzy Pig's Cow Lick Steak (which is one of my favorite rubs). This is a late start for beef ribs but it was pouring down rain until 1:30. I will report back when there is more to report.

  3. A quick shout out to Dennis for awesome customer service, I emailed him with two questions and instead of responding, he called me within ten minutes of my email even though it was 530am in Bali!! It sure gives me great confidence in Dennis and his company. He was able to explain the correction and I immediately implemented it. Wow, I am so impressed!

  4. After sitting in my warehouse for almost two weeks, she is finally home. I had the help of three of my employees to wrestle her to my patio. The path was mostly dirt so we laid plywood down to roll the crate with the help of a pallet jack. The unloading and delivery to my patio was much easier than expected. This is the path from the truck.

This is the spot that I had picked but my wife felt it was too cluttered.

This is the final resting place of "Obsession" (named by my wife for my obsessive compulsive nature). Here we are enjoying a nice bourbon after a job well done!

  5. HURRAY! At least you know it's there safe and sound, waiting for you to get back to uncrate it and that all important virgin cook!
Cute pooch! He's a bigger version of my Kipper.

That is crazy. Porter is a bernese mountain dog and he weighs 120 lbs. They have the same markings. What type of dog is Kipper? Here is a picture of him sitting on our outdoor furniture. c4e1d349c213d9334fa411f1d8c7e2c7.jpg

  6. Update on my delivery, my 22" Supreme was supposed to be delivered today but there is a delay showing in the tracking information.  I called the freight company and they said the truck had broken down in Dallas and there is no information as to when the delivery will happen.  Arggghhh!!  I was so excited when I got up this morning.  What a bummer!  I am leaving for Cancun on Saturday so I hope it arrives by Friday.  Not a big deal but I didn't want my employees to see it before I did!

Dayumn.. I counted 5 taps!   Going for the gusto.. LOVE IT!

The 5th tap is a randal that we use to infuse different flavors into one of the four beers on tap. We have done a blonde ale through pineapple, rosemary and oranges, a saison through Serrano peppers and a goes through habanero peppers. It keeps the same beers from getting old.

  8. Adding my WELCOME as well, plus good to have another home brewer in the mix. Not in your league (25 gallon batches), but have been a steady brewer for about 10 years now. Love your brewery name. If you go to Homebrew Con this year in Minneapolis, look me up, I'll be with our local club - Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts. We're pouring on Club Night.

Here is the home brew setup.

  9. Hello,

Well almost a new owner as I am waiting for it to ship.  I have been wanting a KK for months now and after three months of constant hints and quite a bit of badgering, my wife finally gave in and green lighted the purchase of a new KK 22" Supreme Hi-Cap.  It was a hard sell since we have a large gas grill, a gas smoker and an 18" Vision kamado.  Since the purchase of the Vision, the gas smoker is never used.  We are almost empty nesters with one child graduating college this May and two others who are grown and out on their own.  We also are avid home brewers with a 25 gallon brewing system and an indoor pub with four taps.  We entertain quite often and I was looking for a way to increase the volume of food that I can cook.  Now I have to wait on the KK to arrive which I believe will be quite difficult!

I will post pictures once I have received it.  So excited I can't stand it!

    Keith
