The dessert I am most asked for at church dinners.

    1- 9" graham cracker crust

    3 cans sweetened condensed milk

    2 Cups heavy whipping cream

    2 tsp vanilla

    6 TBS sugar

mini semi-sweet chocolate chips ( or to be fancy shaved block chocolate)

    sliced almonds

Put unopened cans of milk in a pan of easy boiling water for 3 hrs. Keep cans covered, turn cans over at 1.5 hrs. A rack in bottom of pan will keep milk from burning.

Carefully open cans, they will have pressure built up. Empty into bowl stir together to smooth, then pour into pie crust.

    Refrigerate overnight.

Whip cream, sugar, and vanilla until stiff, Spread over chilled pie. Top with chocolate chips and almonds

How would you rate the edge retention between the SG2 and VG10 steel. I can never get my wife to hone a knife when she uses it, I try to keep up but you know how that goes. So I am looking for something that keeps the edge a long time, in all honesty though, anything will last longer than the Chicago Cutlery I have had for years, just a lot of work to keep them sharp.

  3. Here's a frozen drink we really like around the holidays and family get togethers.

6 oz Pkg Jell-O (choose your favorite flavor, we use strawberry)

    3 cups sugar

    1/2 cup + 2 Tbs. Lemon juice

    1 tall can pineapple juice

2 qts. hot water (I heat the water to boiling for quick dissolving)

    2 qts. cold water

    2 qts Ginger Ale

Dissolve Jell-O and sugar in hot water.

Add lemon juice, pineapple juice, and cold water.

    Freeze.

When ready to serve (okay a little before) thaw to icy mixture and add Ginger Ale.

  4. Those that followed the "Billy Bar or Grill Floss" thread know that thanks to Taylor Gifts great customer service  I have a three extra Grill Floss. So... if anybody is interested $15 shipped, to the first three to PM or email me. I can take PayPal, check, cash or well we better stop there.

  5. After seeing that DJ got an order cancelation I went online to check the status of my order. They showed back ordered for several days and then changed to in house decline. Figured I too would be notified they were not available, but was not. I made several calls and had to leave voice mails. I finally decided to just order some Billy Bars. They arrived yesterday. They look really nice and should do nicely until I get something with SS grates. So today I get an email informing me my Grill Flosses are in the mail. If this is really true, I guess I can compare them myself. And have a head start on Christmas shopping.

  6. Tony,

Not sure if someone is messing with you or did it by accident. I had someone move mine on another map before they figured out what they were doing. Just go back into the edit mode and you can click and drag yourself back to where you belong. That sounds like a song.

  7. To add your location and picture log into your google account to edit. If you don't have one click "sign in" and it will give you the option to create one. If anyone needs an invite to get a gmail account let me know and I can send an invite to an existing email.

To add your marker, after you sign in click edit in the left margin.

Zoom in on the area you want.

Then click on the blue tear drop marker at the top of the map window.

Click on the location you want. This will open the window for you to enter your info.

Hire is a link to a video walking through the process.

I have found another possibly easier way to get added to the map. You must still have a google account and be signed in. Add the KK map to your "My Maps" list, then use the search maps at the top of the screen to find your address. It will show a placemark on the map and open an info box. in the info box will be a "save to my maps option" Click on it. Placemark is added and edit box opened to enter your info.

  8. I have been displaced about 26 years. Army sent me to Ft Cambell KY. Married a KY girl and here I am. I was last out there 2 years ago, and things are definitely differant. Hanford is at least double or more in size. Didn't make it to Yosemite or the beach, but did get up to Kings Canyon to show the daughter the big trees and snow.

  9. to ban me from this board. I have ordered a Billy Bar. Am going to order the clamptite mentioned in the review section and of course I want a KK instead of a GD. And talking about a trip home. All of you people in Central CA posting about Harris Ranch and other places are making me home sick. I am a displaced Hanford, Californian living in KY. She has already forgot it is her fault I started looking again

  10. I hate to ask (ok not really), but the wife has seen all, well, alot of the pictures, and she says "Yes they look nice, but they are new. What do they look like later, do those tiles fall off?". This probably stems from my GD. I really liked it and it had no major problems, until the battle with JD, except for the paint. The paint had faded and starting to peel, it was do a paint job. So... could some of you old timers post some pics of your old, tired, tiles falling off... oh wait wrong forum  . Seriously, how about some pictures to reassure her we need to spend a little more for one of these.
