Re: Has anyone tried a salt crusted prime rib ??
Another take on this technique.

Re: It's on!
Both sizes up here come in the blue bags, but it may be a difference for you guys. They have to ship in different bags up here because of the metric system, lol. Keeping the colors different probably helps keep errors down.

Re: It's on!
I think the briquettes are packaged in the orange bag up here.

Re: It's on!
lol, I'm always pulling the pin on a hop bomb here. Can't wait to do some hardcore q'in on the KK with a rocking brew.

Hey johnnyboy, are you the same guy who does the covers?

Re: It's on!
I've been looking at this for months, wringing my hands. I convinced everyone to give me cash for Christmas so I can put it towards something I really want. And something of quality that will be around next Christmas.

Placed the order today. Glass Green Gen 2.2 Ultimate OTB. Can't wait! The green wasn't my first choice of colors, but a close second. All part of the internal negotiating process.
I think I might be the furthest east owner in North America.

That was excellent. Thanks.

Can you cook on the two levels at the same time? Is there a good picture of the two units side by side and open with the grills in?
-
What are the additional grate configurations with the bigger unit? Also, is there square inch comparison on the cooking surfaces?
-
I'm looking for some first hand experience of the important differences between the two cookers (forget the gas option, not interested:)).
I am thinking of buying a KK, but am not sure which unit would be the best. Maybe the 19.5" is better for a family of 3? How much can you load on the smaller unit? What's the biggest turkey, how many ribs, etc?

Allow me to keep this one going. Sent a PM regarding shipping to Nova Scotia.

I've only done one, and it was high heat, and it turned out fantastic.
