  1. Re: 1st Brisket attempt I rubbed the brisket the night before with some mustard and a good spice rub. Then i got the KK running at 225-250. I had some lump charcoal with some sticks of cherry. I put it on and let the KK do its job until the meat hit the 190 internal temp. Then I pulled it and wrapped in foil for an hour. Then sliced and served.
  2. Man I am loving this grill more and more. I did a brisket tonight and it turn out great. Take a look at these pics.
  3. Re: First Cook Yea I upped to heat to around 300 or so for the last 30-45 min
  4. Re: First Cook I just rubbed them. then put them on for about 5 hours. Went with the bend test to see when they were ready. I glazed with sauce the last 30min or so.

  6. Well i finally got around to firing up the new KK. Man this thing is great. It was amazing how easy things were to bring up to temp and hold temp. I did some ribs and held the KK between 225-250. Here are some pics. photo (4) (Large).JPG[/attachment:381d9z08] photo (3) (Large).JPG[/attachment:381d9z08] photo (2) (Large).JPG[/attachment:381d9z08]

  8. I have my Kingsford colored fat boy. I am still getting the hang of it but if you live in the Dallas area let me know.
  9. Re: Hi to all I picked up a bag of lump at Kroger yesterday. I will have to talk to the Manager at Walmart to see about getting in some Royal Oak. When I went they only had briquets. I am going to do some ribs tomorrow for my first cook. I will take plenty of pics.
  10. Re: Hi to all Here is a quick photo of the grill. Dennis outstanding work on it. I have not heard a word from those guys at kingsford. The only contact that I have had is from you Dennis. Either way I am happy. I will have to drop them an email and see if they could send some my way.
  11. Re: Hi to all Ok I got my KK delivered on Wednesday last week. Due to the holiday and having family in town I havent gotten to cook on it yet. However I cant seem to find any lump charcoal around. I have checked Home Depot, Lowes, walmart. I cant seem to find any lump. I am going to check out Costco or Sams today and see if they have any. As soon as I find some I have some baby backs that I am going to do as my first cook.
  12. Re: Hi to all I actually only entered once. I figured what the heck. It took me like 2 minutes to fill out the form. I got an email when the contested ended saying that I won. Then this week I got a call from Dennis to talk about getting it to me. Now today I got an email from Dennis letting me know its on the way to my house. I talked to the shipper and it should be here in Texas this weekend. I cannot wait to get this fantastic grill home.
