  1. Sorry guys but this is no joke.

There is a global fundraising organisation which started about 10 years ago in Australia called Movember.

The idea is that participants shave clean on November 1st and then grow a moustache right through November - or as it has been renames Movember.

The funds are dedicated specifically to men's health issues, in particular prostrate cancer and men's depression initiatives.

Our company has a team from each office with around 30 participants.

It's a bit of a laugh and well supported, it is funny when you are in a high powered business meeting and half the room has lame moustaches!

If you are interested in supporting my mo in particular - donations can be made online at http://au.movember.com/mospace/2968913

Or if you would like more information in general check out the Movember website in your country.

    Cheers

    Andrew

P.S. my bronze KK arrives on Wednesday next week!

  2. Re: Grill floss in Oz

CoolShack I have never seen one in the flesh so it is hard to duplicate.

I don't mind the $25 but the freight is stupid high, hence need to spread the cost.

D you have any pictures that I could see and try and fabricate from?

    Cheers

  3. Well I have looked hard and cannot find Grill Floss anywhere for sale in Australia.

Mighty sick or the crappy grill brushes, I think the KK deserves better!

I have a US delivery box and can get delivery from Grill Floss to my USA ail box and the onto main Melbourne. I just received a Maverick ET-732 for $60 which is about half what they are local :-)

Is anyone interested in one or more Grill Floss? Price would be what I pay for them, about $25 plus share if USA to Oz freight, plus local Austpost to you. Or pick up from Sandringham VIC or St Kilda Rd Melbourne.

    Any takers?

    Cheers

  4. Re: a lamb cut i have never seen before

Believe it or not, lamb breast is a prohibited import into Fiji, due to the very high fat content and the effect that this has in the health of the Fijians.

This is what I heard in TV in Fiji a couple of years ago.

So annoying the govt bans must be good, right?

  5. Re: Granite work-surface?

Use granite rather than marble admit is less porous and will take the wether better.

Be very careful when handling it there are many four fingered stone masons...

When you buy stone they will usually cut and finish the edges for you it is worth it.

  6. Re: Hello from OHIO

Yeah I paid $39 here in Australia.

If anyone is interested I will check the power specs on the side and ship them over :-)

Now if someone can get me a Maverick ET-732 for a good price... They are $115 here!

    Cheers

  7. Re: Hi from Melbourne

    Hi George,

I found this info on the Aussie BBQ forum on general info on local Australian charcoal and at the bottom it lists several suppliers in Melbourne. Including the guy in Dingley village.

    http://sosman.org/bbq/LumpCharcoal

Seems most of our charcoal is Mallee root or Mangrove. I have a bag of Malley root I got for a spit roast that I did last Christmas, so I will use that and then try out the Mangrove, just to see. It is certainly a more sustainable crop!

    Summer is coming

    Cheers

    Andrew
