TNSmoker
I know the consensus opinion is that heat deflectors that come with the KK aren’t needed, and I’ve certainly found that to be the case already in just a few cooks that I’ve done on my new 32”. So, it begs the question… have any of you found any practical use for the heat deflectors? Trying to decide if I should store them away for the future, or go ahead and get rid of them. I’m not much of a packrat for stuff I’ll never use! Edited October 3, 2021 by TNSmoker
jonj
My main use of the deflector is on the main grate under a baking steel on the upper rack. I use it to keep the crust and toppings of a pizza on the same cooking timeline. Using it tonight, in fact. However, the double bottom drip pan will do the same thing.
