ThreeDJ16 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Hello! I was just curious about the lift spring. I know it is user adjustable and is probably part of routine maintenance to have to adjust it once in a while. Being the spring is constantly under a load, I was wondering if the spring has to be replaced eventually? Thanks, -=Jasen=-
DennisLinkletter Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Spring will stay sprung... The spring is made out of proper hardened steel by a company that actually specializes in springs. Yes, it will settle a bit at first as all springs do but then it should last longer than we all will... The selection of the spring was not compromised, I bought the best one available.. And that fat lil' spring is incredibly strong.. it creates some serious torque... But don't use it's abilities to let you rationalize peeking every few minutes... Remember if your lookin' you not cookin'
ThreeDJ16 Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 !! Yeah, it must be a seriously strong spring. That is one huge mass on the long side of a cantilever and a small spring on the short. I would hate to have to do the work it does. Thanks for the info, -=Jasen=-
