My KK is ordered and on the water. I really can't wait, and appreciate all the great info the forum members share here.

Every time I read the recipe section I get hungry and start drooling....

@mk1:

Hello, mate! Welcome to the family! You are in Cook_Shack's bailiwick, so you should cozy up to him. He is a master of KK cooking. Here's to you, and to decades of delicious meals to come.

I'll look for your unit going by here (Pensacola). It will also pass a couple of others on the way down I75.

What will be your first cook?

My son of 5 will only allow one option for numero uno...RIBS.

I (b)raised him right....

Hope to cook Thanksgiving on her!

Re: Thanks Dennis!....and I can't wait

Welcome to the forum Martin.

I'm pleased as punch to see you here.

A little side note:

Martin was on a pool forum when he stumbled across someone ranting about a BGE..

After reading that a BGE was a Kamado, he ended up on the K Fraud Forum site where he found references to KK.

He was admiring Komodos when his wife saw them and asked what they cost, when he replied 4K, she said, "Your not going to buy a 4k grill are you?"

He answered of course not..

Couple of hours later he had purchased one..

I love a story with a happy ending..

It's true, It's true.....

We then had a family Pow Wow on the color...we let the kids decide as has been recommended.

They chose Glass Green, which I think will look great in my backyard.

(and yes I let my 3 year old daughter and 5 year old son run my life) ;)

... love the story!!

You and the family will love the KK! Wise move cooking ribs out of the gate. Be aware, given your son's penchant for ribs, he will be eying your KK for future inheritance shortly after the first cook!

Re: Thanks Dennis!....and I can't wait What is it with kids and these grills.... I got home from work, rolled it into the backyard and my boy insisted on posing in it! I love the Glass Green even better in person!

Re: Thanks Dennis!....and the wait is over....

Just wait until your wife enjoys having you participate in the Thanksgiving food prep! If you cook the bird on the KK, which I highly endorse, use a drip pan and make gravy with the drippings! You'll thank me later! Even freeze the leftover drippings, sans fat, the gelatin you save will enhance a soup pot later! Welcome to the family! My wife was with your wife until she saw the unit in person!
