Re: New Owner

Thanks for all the replys. I was going to buy a looftlighter but when I went to Home depot I found out it is online purchase only. So I think I will head back tomorrow and get a torch after reading the reviews from both. My biggest concern was having to buy fuel all the time, but it sounds like it lasts a while.

Re: New Owner

Get the torch from Lowes that uses the camp stove type gas cans. One can will last for over a year. In my area, those cans can be had for a couple of bucks. That may be cheaper than the cost of electricity, for the same period, with the Looftlighter- depending on electrical charges, which vary.

Re: New Owner

Cooked my first Beef Tenderloin tonight. It turned out amazing. I was going to cook it at 250 but it ended up around 275 for 3 and a half hours. Cooked it to 150 internal temp because my wife doesn't like rare meat. I think next time I will do two tenderloins instead of one.

Re: New Owner

It can be tough. With my wife it's the same thing. I like my steaks rare to medium rare and she likes it medium. What to do. It's a timing thing. Putting one steak on at one time and the other a minute or two later.
