Cory Posted November 11, 2012 Author Report Posted November 11, 2012 Re: New Owner Thanks for all the replys. I was going to buy a looftlighter but when I went to Home depot I found out it is online purchase only. So I think I will head back tomorrow and get a torch after reading the reviews from both. My biggest concern was having to buy fuel all the time, but it sounds like it lasts a while.
Paswesley Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 Re: New Owner Get the torch from Lowes that uses the camp stove type gas cans. One can will last for over a year. In my area, those cans can be had for a couple of bucks. That may be cheaper than the cost of electricity, for the same period, with the Looftlighter- depending on electrical charges, which vary.

Ducaticraig Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 Re: New Owner Yes it is and it will fire up your Lump Char quickly and with ease. It's so simple to use and actually makes starting the KK fun. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Cory Posted November 12, 2012 Author Report Posted November 12, 2012 Re: New Owner Cooked my first Beef Tenderloin tonight. It turned out amazing. I was going to cook it at 250 but it ended up around 275 for 3 and a half hours. Cooked it to 150 internal temp because my wife doesn't like rare meat. I think next time I will do two tenderloins instead of one.
EGGARY Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Re: New Owner It can be tough. With my wife it's the same thing. I like my steaks rare to medium rare and she likes it medium. What to do. It's a timing thing. Putting one steak on at one time and the other a minute or two later.
