  1. I use the Flame boss wifi with the guru fan as the KK is designed for the guru fan only. It’s also fun to sheare cooks like the one below. https://myflameboss.com/cooks/81577 Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  2. If you like tech stuff then I recommend the Flame Boss wifi version. You can share cooks like the one below. https://myflameboss.com/cooks/81577 I bought the Flame Boss controller and the BBQ Guru fan as the KK fan slot is designed for the BBQ Guru and not the Flame Boss fan. The guru fan plugs right into the flame boss controller without modifications. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  3. I received my sale priced tri-tips today..2.60 & 2.84 lbs. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  4. Unfortunately the Flame Boss fan doesn't fit in the KK. I already had the Flame Boss before the KK, so all I did was buy the Guru fan. The guru fan connects to the flame boss controller without any modifications. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  5. I started my first pork butt on the KK this AM using my somewhat new Flame Boss. I've done several cooks using it on my now retired WSM. Check out my cook with @FlameBossSmokes https://myflameboss.com/cooks/80836 Pictures will follow unless it's done in the middle of the night which at this point seem like a real possibility.
  6. Ordered two. Thanks for the heads up! Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  7. 23" Ultimate, Autumn Nebula, New 2017.
  8. 5 Guys or PennStation for fresh cut style. Wendy's has my vote for normal FF. McDonald's used to be my favorite FF but there burgers are so bad that I haven't been to McD in years. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  9. Congrats, that color has some POP to it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I assume you got a cover being that far north.
  10. Aussie, Surprisingly, not much preparation was needed....lol. No cigarette needed afterwards either, as it was done before it started if you know what I mean... I do eat hot dogs at least two times a week, so all joking aside it was a perfect dog delivered by my new KK.
  11. So what to cook as the first cook….There’s a lot of pressure on what to do for the first cook as you’ll always remember you’re first?!? I pondered this question for weeks and pulled in a couple of my friends at work to see if they could remember their first. Oh the stories they told…. Anyway, the prerequisite was that the cook was also going to be part of the first burn-in or curing of the exterior. This eliminated all the slow cooks. The local weather indicated unseasonably warm weekend coming up so the decision had to be made soon. We had a very nice local butcher shop that had some of
  12. Summary For about $70 I was able to reinforce my 30 year old deck. This provided me some security that it won’t collapse under the weight of the new grill. The unboxing of the grill and accessories was a religious experience as I kept praising Jesus. You know you’re special when the owner of the new grill you just bought calls you. Deck Reinforcement I have a wooden deck that is about 30 years old. I’m an electrical engineer but thought I could be a civil/structural engineer for the evaluation of my deck. After the evaluation I, concluded the deck appears to be in good shape,
  13. Received BOL for my new 23" Ultimate....accessories were almost as heavy as grill...lol. So I've got a couple days before delivery to break the news to the wife on what will be on her side of the garage till I get it on the deck. I took the advice of this forum and loaded up on charcoal among other fun accessories as listed below... 23" Ultimate, Autumn Nebula Coffee Smoking Wood ~ Cold Smoker Smalls 5 lbs × 2 COFFEE WOOD Lump Charcoal ~ GRILL PURCHASE only × 10 Extruded Coconut Shell Charcoal ~w/Grill Sales Only‐ × 20 23" Ultimate ~ Charcoal Basket × 1
  14. Great information and feedback...I was thinking it was something like a serial number and you have confirmed it. I'm looking forward to the future with a new KK, currently have a Weber Smokey Mountain.....currently working out details like how to inform the wife...lol! Thanks for the pictures halfsmoke.
  15. I've got a web store question about the description of each unit....It seem that each unit has a unique identifier in its description and wanted to know what it means. Example below...what does the bold alphanumeric information mean...any ideas. 23" Ultimate, Olive & Gold Pebble - B6722C (in Carson CA) 23" Ultimate, Olive & Gold Pebble - B6712A (in Carson CA) Thanks for your time.
