Any particular reason that you went with the battery powered version (i.e., lack of a nearby electrical outlet) over their plug-in version (same price and slightly bigger - 10kg load)??

Sorry Tony i missed your question, no real reason, access to power is about 30ft away, just wanted to see if does the job without getting any power cords out.

I have since ordered and received their plug-in unit

  4. Welcome Steve, this place is chocablock full of people with good advice, glad you got it up to your deck area no hassles. Looks sweet

We thought we we're having a hard time with our shipping agents but once they got sorted what needed doing it fell into place quite quickly. :smt023

  5. Finally got it in its spot, took 3 of us quite easily, gets on a roll effortlessly...stopping it is the tricky part, just a matter of taking it slow.

  6. Tangles told me his experience last night with the square pedestal, i got an email today from Mimi Tya with owners manual and break in instructions, says in the manual that the pedestal can be imploded, i knocked out the 1st side with a hammer and chisel and the other 3 sides with a length of timber (just be careful not to hit any tiles)

from the back gap not bridged yet

The wheels have contact, but sitting up off floor of crate, so made a bridge between wheels, (Dennis told me best to come off sideways)

Heres a pic from the front, and what i mean by bridging the gap so its a smooth roll off (in theory)

the ramp thats supplied is spot on

i've just added a few pieces here and there, and had some marine ply laying around thats going to be used as a track to move it.IMG_0807.thumb.JPG.d4839b91b2a63431c6edd8ae7a954b3a.JPG

Shed some weight with the stainless out, but i reckon she's still going to give me hard time...we'll see :coffee:

might just try rolling it on the paving 1st

  7. Ok, back with a few more fotos, was up early this morning after watching the Roma v Liverpool clash and i know its been said before but...perfect packaging throughout.IMG_0779.thumb.JPG.d7fa964015c230c5a3bb5c538a8ec383.JPG

    IMG_0780.thumb.JPG.015d87abefef6d444c36450742cc6a60.JPG

Had to dismantle the crate bit by bit (no-one home to help me lift off over cooker). Anyway finally got access to the stuffing inside as Mimi put it to me when she told me they were getting ready to ship, lol

So much stuffing i was amazed, anyone on the sidelines about getting any KK.....just do it.

The top damper alone i thought the circumference was as big as a soccer ball....i was wrong, here it is next to a regulation size World Cup ball

    IMG_0791.thumb.JPG.4094a306dc089297a76751555f8f1dce.JPG

and so i was left with getting the ramp ready for disembarkation

  8. Ok, after a great experience with the owner and creator of Komodo Kamado, the transition from payment to delivery was a breeze and painless, big thank you to Dennis and his team Dewi and Rini.

Was supposed to be delivered at 1pm today but got the call while at motherinlaws couple of hours early said he'd be at my place in 20, any way its here now, close but no cigar still got to manoeuvre it from front to backyard, definitely going to need at least 3..... 4 people would be better to control this things weight once it gets a roll going, my front has about a 15% slope, me and the delivery guy struggled to stop it at one stage.IMG_0774.thumb.JPG.08a6c1a356f22f878844b17a2884ce66.JPGIMG_0777.thumb.JPG.780b8206608dbfc45a96d0f33290e454.JPG

Finally got it to where i want to unpack and roll off the pallet, will probably start to do that tomorrow.

I get more pics up later :-D

If you play baseball, it's called safe at home. Nothing devious but, your picture puts you as a devil in disguise. Devil with a blue dress on, an old American song as I look at it.  Don't worry about the past, tomorrow is a new beginning.

  10. I'll let you know when mine arrives...got a slight incline going down at my place as well.

The vessel shipping mine is in tomorrow, reckon the cargo discharge and the load back usually takes around a day and a bit, quick question for KK owners in W.A. how long after landing did you get it delivered home.
