1. Looks like you quoted inside of my quote, but it’s the person assisting the line in front that could have gone bad. That’s why those winches come with remotes that have long lines and warnings to stay away when using. When those lines break, it’s bad news.

Anyways, glad it all worked out. Your grill is gorgeous; enjoy in good health.

2. I'm guessing the cable was rated for way more than that grill weighs. Looks like a walk in the park. Hardest part looked like keeping the wire going back on the wrench nice and pretty.  What I want to see is the video of it going up the ramp default_cool.png

Not trying to start a war, I’m just saying I saw the aftermath of a coworker that about lost their life on a new cable failing that was rated for much higher than the weight it was pulling. If it was made and/or designed by man, it can have issues so safeguard yourself.

3. Ok, ok. For the first cook ever on the 42” Komodo Kamado I decided to make some baby back ribs as I was craving them. I seasoned with Meat Church Honey Hog & Honey Hog Hot, then slathered them with AlbuKirky Duke City Sweet sauce. Let me tell you what; finger licking good!

4. So I can’t post videos directly on here huh? That’s a bit of a bummer. I made a comparable video to the hotdog pic on the other 42 that’s on Instagram. Maybe I can link that below. EDIT: Looks like it worked.

5. Update:

IMG_1443.HEICIMG_1443.HEICEspresso machine has landed and I will say that the Niche Zero is more than adequate to the task.  My Lucca M58v2 seems pretty similar to the Profitec Pro 700 (the Lucca M58 v2 is a custom build for Clive Coffee from the Italian Company QuickMill).  Both are Dual Boiler, PID controlled machines, the biggest difference I could see was the Profitec Pro 700 uses knobs for Steam and hot water where the M58v2 uses joysticks.
So the Nice Zero can grind amazing coffee for pour over and espresso with a well indexed dial that allows you to move from one coffee brewing technique to the other effortlessly, maintaining your precise grinds for each!  Nearly zero retention means that after a grind or two, you will find that 20g's in means 20g's +/- .1g out.
Can easily grind so fine that NO SHOT will come from the machine!  Probably the same with other high end grinders but I was surprised!
The Espresso learning curve remains somewhat a work in progress for me, but I will say that it sure beats going to my local 3rd wave coffee shop for anything other than freshly roasted beans.  I think I will leave the roasting to the experts for now.  Mac, did you ever get that Profitec Pro 700? I'm sure that you could spend a lot more money and not get any better performance as a home barista making a cup or two a day.  I think anything more capable will really blur the lines between personal and commercial.  I don't need (or want) commercial personally, but the coffee sure is good!

6. Mail call..... I wanted my first cook to be on the rotisserie. Now to make it happen between a baseball fueled weekend and before I leave Monday.

This must be a powerful little motor. Much more compact than I expected. I was expecting to see a Ferrari V12 powering it.

7. I'm not surprised Dennis. I was fixed on the 23".
After reading all the posts they significantly sway everyone towards the 32"
Given I have stacks of other cooking options( sous vide, steam oven, convection oven, gas bbq, Kamado, soon to be open fire grill- really a disguise ODK to house a KK) I still think I'm a 23"

You can always cook smaller on a bigger grill, however; you cannot create more space on a smaller grill to cook bigger.

8. I can confirm as recently as this week that that's the case. My 32KK is matt black pebble.
SSgt93 That's a mighty fine looking KK there. I believe that the pebbles make for much moister cooks, better temperature control.....

Haha.

9. I just got my 21 and sold my egg to a good friend. I totally thought I would be happy with just my 21 KK but your pics got me thinking about the 32 BB.

But then you will think about the 42..... do it now and save the mental anguish lol.

10. We are waiting.......for the pixs.

I know you are and I appreciate it. It’s a long story but it will be worth the wait, I promise. I’m just so busy and hate posting basic photos.

Maybe this will do for now?

11. First truly hot weekend of the summer and one of the few weekends where we didn't have too much going on.  So, nothing but pool and KKQ!
Saturday, I fired up some great baby backs along with elotes (Mexican grilled corn) on the side.  Props to SSgt93 for turning me on to Albukirky rubs - the sweet hot was the ticket!
But today was the real winner - a couple of gorgeous tomahawk ribeyes from my local butcher (Costco!).  The 2 zone capability of the 32 is awesome - steaks came out perfect.  A little quick and dirty strawberry shortcake put a bowtie on a great weekend.

Looking good! Kirk of AlbuKirky makes some amazing rubs and jellies for sure. I love the Green Chile on skirt steak to make Carne Asade; simply fantastic!

12. I will post some pics when I get her in place after burn-in cleanup. She’s resting in the garage right now. I have put some stuff on my Instagram story (if you are on there and understand how that works) but I haven’t posted any pics yet.

13. The Eagle has landed!

One of the most nerve wrecking experiences of my life was rolling this beast off of the crate onto the garage floor with my 12yo son’s help. Holy smokes! Lol

Amazing packing job Dennis and crew!
