1. I’ve just eaten, but now I’ve read your message I’m hungry again!!!!! Looks very tasty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
2. For home made burgers they look perfect! Uniformity is for machines!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. tony b ah yes, corn is a favorite here too! Good addition to the Vegan Recipe list ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4. @Basher Thanks for the lead on the pumpkin, I am looking into those recipes along with anything veg.
5. @tekobo thank you for the excellent suggestions, and photos really help stir my imagination. Am now researching recipes and we shall where I finish up!! The 42 is glorious, cannot say enough complimentary things about it - strictly speaking much bigger than I need, but it's nice (luxury) to be cooking indirect and still spread things out.
6. Hi Everyone! I love cooking big cuts of meat on my KK42 it is just the best experience ever! However, my daughter is vegan, and I am keen to include meals for her on the KK. Do any of you have vegan recipes that you use/have used on the KK? I’m hoping for some that include the use of smoke and a nice lengthy cook, but realize my expectations may exceed reality! I apologize if there is already a topic somewhere for this, I didn’t find it in my search. Thanks All!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
7. I think you’re 100% correct. Getting rid of the stone made a huge difference...but I suppose I had to test it to find out for myself!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
8. Good luck with it! Not sure if the half pizza stone I left in the grill (see prior picture) is significant or not, I didn’t leave it there intentionally, just didn’t think to try removing it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9. Cooked 4 pizzas today and was able to experiment: First 2 pizzas were cooked on steel that was directly on top of pizza stone, that was directly above the heat side of the KK. They cooked “ok”, but crust base was not improved from prior cooks that were directly on pizza stone. I admit that I might have not been 100% heat soaked at that stage. Second 2 pizzas were cooked on steel that was indirect heat (see photo) and without pizza stone beneath steel. The crust on these was very good. Did not have to do anything other than wait 9ish minutes for cook. I believe heat soak was also fully accomplished at this point also, at about 550. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
10. About to kickoff some pizzas in the 42 KK. A couple of questions: 1. Just got a pizza steel, never used one, had only used pizza stones before. Does it make sense to put the steel on top of the pizza stones? 2. I have the fire basket split 50:50, so left side is over the heat and right side is not. Do we think the steel should be over the heat side, or not? I do know that the side over the heat cooks faster from prior cooks with the pizza stones. Thanks all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
11. Thanks for the grillfloss info - now I need to order one! As for the Costco delay, yes the price is worth waiting a bit longer... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
12. Good info on the latches here. Sometimes my latch will pop open to the first position, after I’ve fully closed it. I’ve found that I have to rotate the cam a little and then close it to the second position again and wait a few seconds to see if it’ll pop open again. Anyone else had this issue? 13. Great sequence of pics - Brought back good memories of my delivery day! I know what you mean about burn in, but once it’s done, it’s done. The KK looks great in your backyard!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
14. This recipe is a really good idea, and fun! It seems like this will only work if you have the rotisserie? Something I didn’t buy... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
15. How did you decide on the grillfloss? I see several competing tools for that on Amazon and of course can’t decide which one will get the job done for me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
