  1. As it turns out sometimes you don't get to choose what the first thing will be. It's a Tuesday and the Grill arrives at about 12:30. So by the time you unpack it, take the lid off, get it up on the deck and put it back together it's running on 2:30... You think still time to fire it up for dinner, something simple would be best. You knock out the hole for the Stoker and find out that the attachment won't fit. So now your off to Newark to visit your new best friends at Rocks BBQ to try to change parts. Your heading home it's 3:15 and you have about given up on the idea of cooking but that little voice in your head says don't give up now so you head to the store for ribs. And the first thing you cook on your new grill is ribs not pork shoulder not steak or fish just ribs, and dinner will be around 8:00..
  2. OK Komodo Kamado #647 is hooked up and running.... They delivered it at 12:30 today so I thought why not try to cook dinner for tonight... Come on how hard can this be he asks.. Well by the time we take the top off and get it up on the deck and then put back together it now 2:30.. Still time to try something simple so I decide on ribs.. Clean out the inducer port to plug in the new stoker so I can fire this puppy up and run to the store. The adapter they sent me for the stoker does not fit.......javascript:emoticon(''). This is starting to become a problem. So I jump in the car and head out to Newark to visit the nice folks at Rocks BBQ. Get a new part head to the store buy some ribs and dinner should be somewhere around 8:00. Not the way I planned it but it just might work.
  3. Dennis, See Christmas does come.... This is exceptional news. will we get a tracking number for the UPS deliveries?? That way someone will be home to greet the deliver person......
  4. Vince, Post what post ???? I seem to be missing something here...
  5. Vince, Not sure if you have been watching the current inventory or not but until yesterday some of the inventory was listed as "Ship due in LA week of April 15th"... They now say available in Carson City CA so I take it that means the shipment has cleared customs and is in the warehouse... I know I know wild speculation on my part but what else is there. If my speculation is correct I expect we could see something next week..... By the way did you make it over to Eggs by the bay ?? Tony
  6. I have some on order for the next shipment. Eggs by the bay are only open on weekends. Lucky me it's only about a mile from my house.
  7. Looks like you have at least one of everything... I'm missing the cover but I do have both baskets for the E-Z Que and Grill floss. Since I don't have experience with ceramic cookers I ordered some Grill Grates, I read something on the forum that seems ti indicate that getting good grill marks on steaks was next to impossible and that the Grill Grates would resolve that issue. As I said "No experience" so I'm taking everything I read at face value. I can't stand the wait much longer. If we don't hear something soon I will drive to southern Cal and drag mine home.... Noticed you got the tables, by the time I had everything arranged they were all gone.. Bummer..
  8. If you are thinking about a stoker you need to order it soon. They don't keep an inventory (I think they make them as ordered) and they have a backlog of orders. I have one but it took about three weeks to get it. Have you seen the versaGrill ?? It gives you a shelf when you are using the rotisserie, seems like a useful item.. Tony
  9. Did you get the information I sent on the E-Z Que baskets ??
  10. I want a VersaGrill.. Please tell me how to purchase one. Hope to hear from you soon..... Thanks Tony [email protected]
  11. Thanks for the pointer to Lazzari. Seems close enough so we can make a trip and stock up for the summer.
  12. Well it seems that we need to get faster ships!!!!! This 5 week wait will be no fun at all. Did you manage to find the E-Z Que baskets ?? I bought a 6" because that was all I could find and then I found the 8". Seems like 2 inches would not make a lot of difference but setting them next to each other it makes a lot of difference. We have a Big Green Egg store here in Santa Clara (Eggs by the bay). It's only open on Saturday and Sunday but they have lump charcoal and other supplies that may be handy. The weather is right now all I need is the grill. Tony
  13. Hello Bay Area, Looks like our grills are comming together. I just received an email from Dennis letting me know that mine was just shipped. I guess that puts us about 5 weeks out. We are in Santa Clara, where in the Bay Area are you ?? Tony
  14. Jeff, Do you find that you use both grills a lot?? I noticed that Dennis has a 19.5 in stock here in California but I wondered if I would really use it... Tony
  15. Thanks, That's great to to know. It's going to be a long 5 weeks!!!! I grew-up in Chicago so I was amused when I first moved out here, they refer to San Francisco as "the city" Like in the whole world there is only one and lucky us it's right up the road....
  16. Oops, I guess I've been in northern California too long, by Bay Area I meant the San Francisco Bay Area. Santa Clara to be precise. Not sure where the 5/99 is. So stupid question: If you use the stoker do you close the bottom draft door?? What do you do with the top vent ?? And where do you run the probe wires?? I guess that was a group of questions.... Thanks Tony
  17. Just received an email from Dennis, looks like my new grill just shipped which will put us about 5 weeks away from trying to cook something on this beast. I have a Silken Matte Black GEN 2.2 Ultimate 23" OTB on the way as we speak. Sorry no pictures cause I can't take a picture of something I just ain't got yet.... I have a stoker on order, hopefully it will be here before the grill arrives (and I hope it comes with some kind of manual since I have no idea what I'm doing). I found the 17.5" X 8" E-Z Que baskets. If your looking and not finding try eBay "home and garden/outdoor cooking and eating" search for E-Z Que and look for "Weber Charcoal Grill Kettle E-Z Que Rotisserie 8" Wide". I have no idea about lump charcoal (I do have a BGE store nearby). My big fear is simply not knowing how to cook on this grill. I haven't tried anything other than my Weber and this seems very different. I did manage to find a cook book "Addicted to BBQ" written by some guys that swear by ceramic grills and cook on Primo's. hope this all turns out.................. Tony
