  1. Re: Help in preperation That's really deep Cook Shack. Not sure how it applies here, but it's really deep
  2. Re: Help in preperation Hey Greg, Here is my take on this,if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me. The Party Q is a self contained unit, it has a built in 5 cfm fan and one temp probe for monitoring the pit temp. The whole unit simply attaches into the fan hole at the bottom of the grill. So, you would not need a separate fan, and you cannot monitor the meat temp with this unit. I have a Cyber Q II, which is a little over kill, but it can have a separate fan, pit temp probe and 2 meat temp probes (all of which can be replaced if they go bad). When I first got mine, I was all worried about maintaining the temp overnight, but this really is a set-it and forget-it deal, once you have it at the temp you want, it will stay there way longer than you will ever need it to, assuming you have enough fuel in the basket. Hope this helps And you going to love this grill
  3. Got my charcoal and wanted to try it on steaks, so here it is . . . . here is my little stash And here is the subject of the cook. A new specialty meat place just opened in my town and he had these bone-in rib-eyes. Just had to try one. The ECC is burning and the steak is cooking. Once this ECC gets lit it likes to go. Holding the dome temp to 400. And the finished product. OK, I know this has been said many times, but this is truly the best steak I have ever had. Thank you Dennis, you have done it again. This charcoal really brought out the flavor of the steak without the overpowering smoke. Why are you guys trying to split a pallet. Just get one for yourself. I'm thinking I might need to go ahead and get a second pallet coming
  4. Re: Hickory Charcoal Well I'm always looking for better Charcoal. I live in a small town that doesn't have many options for lump charcoal. So I got a few bags of this to try. I will try it out this weekend. Looks good, and it's nice to know what the charcoal is, not any mysterious lumps of unknown substances in here! Until then here are some pics of one of the bags and it's contents.

  6. I am a newbie here, so hopefully the old pros can jump in and help us out with what they have learned, . . . . . but, I found a product that works great for keeping the exterior stainless steel looking like new. I got it to clean my new stainless steel pots and pans (we are getting rid of all the non-stick cookware). It's called Bar Keepers Friend, and it works like magic. It will have your SS looking great with very little effort. Here is a link to Amazon if anyone is interested. http://www.amazon.com/Bar-Keepers-Frien ... =8-2-spell Also, someone else made a post about using a 24" water heater pan to soak the grills in. Don't know why I didn't think of this, but it works great. Highly recommended!
  7. Re: Greetings and Thanks! Here are some pics of my Autumn Nebula that arrived on Dec. 22, 2010. You're gonna love it
  8. Re: High temp fast brisket Sorry Larry, it's all gone. I'll try to do better next time, as i will being doing another brisket very soon.
  9. Re: High temp fast brisket Thanks Doc, Tried this last night, my first brisket ever, and the results were great. It worked exactly as you said, and man it was good! The best brisket I've ever had.
  10. Re: New Member I have had my KK for about 2 weeks now. All I can say is pull the trigger, you won't be sorry. This has got to be one of my all time best purchases, and I buy alot of stuff. As many others have said, you will not find better customer service. Dennis is great! This grill is beyond anything you can imagine, it's just pure joy cooking on it. Get it while Dennis is offering free stuff. Life is good! Chris
  11. Re: It's Almost Here! Here are some Pics, Pork butt on the Grill at 8 pm And at 8 am the next morning I ended up taking it off at 6 pm (22 hours), this sure does seem like a long time, but that's what it took to get it to 190. The pit temp was 225 to 230 the whole time. Anyway it turned out great, and of course it was the best pulled pork I've ever had. And how about this for a pulled pork sandwich on a homemade potato roll
  12. Re: It's Almost Here! Thanks primeatsand LarryR for the advice. LarryR, this is my first pork butt. I've cooked alot on a regular grill, but the whole low and slow thing is brand new for me. This forum has been great in helping me get up to speed. BTW, it has arrived. I got everything setup last night and hooked up the BBQ Guru and decided to do a test run with it empty. Pretty cool, I got up this morning and it's still humming along at 225. This thing is truly amazing, a hand crafted piece of art work, and built like a tank. The pork butt is going on this evening
  13. Re: It's Almost Here! I have a berkshire bone-in Boston Butt in the fridge and ready to go I'm accepting any recommendations on how to cook this, as I have never cooked on a ceramic grill before. The KK will be delivered tomorrow.
  14. No silly not Christmas, it's my new KK . Just talked with the carrier and my new KK is only 70 miles away after it's long journey. Should be at it's new home in the next day or two. Just in time for cooking something good for Christmas. I'm like a kid who can't wait for Christmas morning to get here!
  15. Re: Dear Santa Cookie Thanks for starting this topic, and thanks to all that have offered suggestions. It's great to hear what other people who have been around awhile have found to be uesful. I have now added to my own Christmas list
