PaulR Posted July 14, 2007 Report Share Posted July 14, 2007 Hi, I've just connected my EzQue rotisserie and found that the rotational direction is clockwise, which is the same direction to "unscrew" the basket. Is this a problem when using the rotisserie or should I just really TIGHTLY screw the plug into the rotisserie? Don't want to find my chooks dropped on the coals when it unscrews itself UPDATE: I started the cook and just tightened the basket connector. All is fine after 45 minutes of turning... ANOTHER UPDATE: WHen I checked the chookas at 1:15 the basket had stopped but the rotisserie motor was still turning You have to ensure the little rod doesn't slip out Anyway chooks in the end were still good (I reckon the walls radiate the heat nicely hence the chicken still being cooked properly) Photo's to follow Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well it makes sense because Paul is on the other side of the equator and we all know things spin in the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere! Gee does it really mean that goes backwards too? I left mine in and this morning I discovered a little surprise...It melted the rubber gas hose right off at the connection ! (yeah yeah I can make a photo of the sucker). PaulR Posted July 15, 2007 Author Report Share Posted July 15, 2007 Here's the evidence: Just clarifying the hose was purchased from a local gas specialist and should have been okay (i.e not supplied by KK; Dennis always provides quality goods ). Just curious why you did not use the valve Dennis sent? That would greatly reduce the heat at your hose. The more surface area between the burner and the hose, the better. Whats you see is what I got I just bought the convertor (last section before the hose) so I could connect the burner to a standard aussie gas hose. I will look at your pictures to see if there's enough detail to see the difference. After I go back to the shop there's always the method of removing the gas burner (not my preference though!) My valve and hose are very different (yeah, I can't leave nottin' alone - hehe), so you cannot compare. Well, I can tell you what it will be with the motor I have, but I wonder if the battery motor might be different (as in the depth it goes into the motor...as that will change the max length). Anyway, mine is 3 3/8 ". Easy to measure, just push it all the way into the motor and measure the distance between the end of the shaft and the grill as you slide it down on the supports.
