  4. I saw your tweets..Is it all working? Can you change what is being tweeted? or is it always in the format: Stoker:Food Probe 1*:72.3, Pit-19:67.1
  5. Thanks, I enquired with them if they support international subscibers. Is it a good read?
  6. Well done, and great photo's! Must have been scary leaving the KK on the ramp whilst taking the photo (is it moving? .
  7. Aargh, nope just replaced the one at the back... Haven't replaced the front one yet (little job I can do over christmas??)
  8. Make sure your sound is on! http://jflores.com/jokes/chowmein.htm
  9. They just look stunning..makes me wanna get Aussie Blue a brother (or sister)
  10. Hi Larry , IMO it also depends on what temps you want to cook at? (and the amount of charcoal you have lit). If you just need it to be at 225 (for example) I connect everything and close the lid (open the top 1/4) and close the bottom vents completely for about 10 minutes and turn on the Stoker and let it do it's thing (I do the same using my guru but for longer cooks I only use the Stoker because I like to keep the results).
  11. Yeah how can you "share" you KK's birthday with anyone else's... bad Fetzer!!
  12. I've got the BB and it works fine...But will also order a grillfloss so I can compare (can't have too many gadgets!)
  13. That looks like a great shot TNW !! I'll try the bracketing with my Nikon on the KK and will post (apologies DJ if they turn out cr@p!)
  14. Ask Mr Bower!? he's the in-house photography expert? I'd like to know too!
  15. Hmm, like the sounds of DJ's method... I use jackies method, i.e. let it come up to temp in the dome (to 700) and place the steaks on the lower grill for a fast cook (usually only turning once?) 3 minutes 1 side and 2 minutes the other (the steaks here are NOT 1 inch thick!). Usually pretty rare/blue the way I like it....
  16. It's way cool (especially for a gadget freak) I intend to have emails send to my work address so I can use my blackberry.
  17. Umm, because I'm silly enough to own both a stoker and a guru and the blower tubes are not interchangeable. i.e. I have to swap inducer tubes/blowers....
  18. So lets hear your opinion of the two. Which do you like better and why?? Well after just two cooks with the Stoker and numerous ones with my Guru I reckon the Guru is more user-friendly to operate. There were a number of things that can go "bump in the night" with the Stoker whilst the guru really is plug it in set the temps and off it goes. Now I'm not saying that this is the whole picture.... not by a long shot. I LOVE(!!) the fact that I can have my Stoker connected to my wireless router which in turn is connected to my laptop which I have inside the house. I can monitor and adjust my temps whilst not getting up (yes sir technology is a beautiful thing). I also like the fact that I have a full overview of how my cook went which makes it easier to really start analysing/timing cooks (yup I'm an IT guys so like my numbers). The graph function is pretty good. Now I haven't tried the "email" function yet, but if I'm doing a couple of hours of q-ing I can go to the mall and the Stoker will spam me (oops keep me updated) with emails (including graphs) of how the cook is progressing. Again I haven't used it that much yet and my teething issues I reckon were just newbie issues. Oh yeah the Stoker seems to vary in temp a tad more than the guru (I'm talking about a massive 2-3 degrees before the blower kicks in ). On the other hand the graph of my Stoker maybe a bit more sensitive than the display on my competitor... Anyway that's my .02 dollars worth...
  19. You're right if you get a 1.5" tube that sits flush I would silicone it as well (assuming I wouldn't have a requirement to remove it frequently; which I do). It looks better to have it sitting flush instead of having the tube stick out (which is obviously the case with my bulkhead adapter )
  20. Naah, my inducer tube is probably 8 inches (yeah bring on the jokes Sanny ) and it fits like a glove...

    Smoked Salmon

Beautiful Naldo, do you have the quantities for the brine?
  22. Great product Dennis, my Gen 2(.0) is beautiful and does me proud most weeks (in summer most days) . All the best for you future ventures (you'll still be selling KK's right?)
  23. I discovered that not having the tube siliconed in is a good thing as I've started using a Stoker (as a new toy besides my guru) and I needed to remove the inducer tube and replace it with the Stoker blower. Maybe not a regular occurence to have to swap out tubes but in my case good thing I haven't fixed it with silicone
