tkline01 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Plugged in and ready to go Saturday Night Ready for the SuperBowl Party Pulled and ready to eat
slicer Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 SuperBowl Pork Looks delicious. I was thinking about cooking my first pork butt in the KK. How long did you cook it and at what temp?
tkline01 Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 Cooked at 220. I cooked two butts...about the same size. I didn't check the weights before cooking. The butt on top rack reached 190F at 14 hours and the butt on main grill reached 190F 16 hours. I usually expect the butts to take up to 18 hours. I had the KK fired up and at temperature for 30-40 minutes before I put the butts on. Once you put the pork on the grill...DO NOT OPEN THE LID!!! I have found my best low and slow cooks are the ones that I just leave alone....anyway...just my two cents. It was yummy! Made up some vinegar sauce and some southern cole slaw to go on top of the pork sammy.
James Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Is that a stoker hooked up to your KK? How do those work?
tkline01 Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 Yes it is a Stoker and it works great. I'm a 'geek' so I love being able to connect it to my wireless network and access it from my laptop or from the office.
