Couple of Rib-eyes.....

Recommended Posts

Well, I thought I would do a couple of Rib-eyes for din din, glad I did! :) I lit the KK with a combination of Royal Oak 25/75 briquette/lump at 4:00 pm and let her slowly rise to 550F dome over the next hour or so...... These were not the thickest so I went 1.5 minutes twice on both sides and the Thermapen read 127F on the thickest parts and 122F on the thinnest....... yup, off they came.........

Old habits are hard to break....... (green platter)

Just finishing off the second side

Some corn bread warmed up on the KK, peas and steak....

Forgot the "wine" shot so I had to go back for this one..... outstanding

I was initially hesitant to do steaks fearing the sear marks might be a challenge, well........ you be the judge! :)

Sear marks look good from here :P Im not sure how that myth took hold, but sear marks are EASY to get on the 3/8" KK grate.

So you compromise on the platter...the green one for the raw meats and the pretty one for the finished products!
